Description

Check out millions of FREE items other people are giving away nearby!

Over 100 Million items have been exchanged for free on Listia!

Listia is a mobile marketplace where you sell things you don't need and get stuff you want in return, for FREE. Earn credits by giving stuff away to reuse, and use those credits to get free stuff you really want from other users. The more you give away, the more free things you can get.

How It Works:

1) Declutter - Sell all the things you don't use - from DVDs to clothing to toys, for free!

2) Earn Credits - Rack up credits when others win your listings.

3) Reward Yourself - Discover and get stuff you'll love from other members or the Listia Rewards Store!

Here is a tutorial for even more information, http://www.listia.com/howitworks

The mobile app makes listing a snap. Simply take a photo with your device, add some details about your item, and post it to Listia instantly. The Listia app will also: show you what nearby users are giving away through the geolocation feature, let you bid on things you want, and notify you any time you're outbid or an item you are watching is ending soon.

Next time you feel like listing something in the free section of craigslist, give Listia a try and see all the cool things you can get in return.

Customer Reviews

Great site!

The recent negative reviews of Listia are not entirely accurate as it's clear that these reviewers don't completely understand Listia. First, I have never encountered a "bully" moderator on Listia. If they do contact me about one of my listings, it is justified and clearly a misunderstanding of the rules on MY part. Second, the rules are the rules, every auction site has them. And 7 days is too short to ship something? No, it isn't. If you are a business owner and want to stay that way, then understand that people don't want to wait 2 weeks for you to mail their items to them. If you don't like the rules, which are all fairly reasonable, then Listia isn't for you so just move on. Third, if you get scammed on a gift card auction, then you've obviously not done your homework on the seller. If the seller just joined Listia, isn't verified, and lists a $100 gift card as their first auction, then it's probably a scam. Sometimes you can't always detect a scammer on other auctions and on those, I have had my disputes resolved fairly. If you do your homework, study some of the auctions and sellers before buying or selling anything, you will have a great Listia experience. Yes sometimes you have to buy credits but bundles start as low as $5. If you don't want to buy them, then don't. I have really enjoyed my Listia experience and encourage others to check it out for themselves.

Buyer Beware!!!!

This site has so much potential however, good luck finding a phone number if there is an issue ( see ripoff report and BBB dealings with Listia). When you email their customer service you will likely get a generalized response or a contradicting response as I got. There are several honest, decent people doing exactly as the site was intended but, there are equally as many scammers, liars, and thieves. When Listia staff is notified (through email only :( ) they are reluctant to deal with the issue appropriately. Because of this, many of the decent sellers and buyers have begun moving on to other auction style sites. You will notice that their profiles have been stagnant for a while. However because of the complacency of the the Listia staff, the liars, thieves, and scammers are still there in full force. In conclusion, the site is set up amazing and has the potential to be way better then eBay however, complacent staff and lack of a customer service line (required by law) though has made this users experience rather frustrating.

Moderators are bullies!

I own an etsy shop, i worked two years to build listia cred than i stopped using it because of my shop. I come back and im abiding by the rules but the moderator are nuts and basically just bullies with the power to kill your account. Its ridiculous! And the rules are so stupid! Their not responsible if someones being a bully, items must be shipped within 7 days no exceptions, and i cant even put a photo of my freaking shop logo which might i add is just a rose! Its so stupid! I used to love listia and tell all my friends about it. Now... I will be deleting the app and never coming back. I couldnt care less about the credits anymore.
