What's New in Version 1.01.02
iOS 7 compatibility bugs have been fixed.
The game is great, great graphics, good story, interesting gameplay. The dialogue however is unbearable, so much so that I can barely stand to play the game. About half of all of the dialogue is almost completely unnecessary and only serves to frustrate me that I can't just do what I'm doing in the game! Some of it is clever but once it's repeated about five times before the cut scene ends it loses most of it's appeal. The game flow is bogged down by the literally constant cut scenes that take way too long. Those people complaining about the dialogue aren't just "call of duty idiots who just want to shoot guns" we're people who want to play a good game without having to stop and listen to the same thing being repeated at us for 10 min after only actually playing for 5 sec! I understand that it is a story game and I love those, but the dialogue problem has nothing to do with the story. All of the same exact information could have been conveyed in much less time. This is just gonna be one of those games that I keep trying to get through only to be frustrated and quit and not play again for a few months. I want to get through it because I do like the game it is just almost impossible.
Now that I have calmed down after playing this amazing game, I'm ready to give an actually realistic review.
I am very happy that the producers fixed the problems that made this game unplayable. It has given me the chance to explore the world of Ghost Trick.
The gameplay was very creative and usually maintained a fun and somewhat challenging experience throughout most of the game. Some parts were more difficult or less difficult than others. Near the end, some of the tricks became difficult to master and, but the dead ends with no chance of returning was very clever, and the option of rewinding was very nice.
The soundtrack was perfect, but could have had more songs.
I would definitely recommend this game to anyone who likes mysteries and "puzzles" for lack of a better word in my vocabulary. The cost for the entire game may seem high at almost $10, but it is absolutely worth it to me.
Fantastic story, love it to pieces :D
I want to start off by saying that I, for one, loved this game. The plot is so intricate yet understandable that it keeps me hooked every time I play it. Oh, and the soundtrack? Phenomenal!
I'm not going to say "oh don't listen to the people who rate this bad!" because they do bring up valid points. If you're looking for action, fast pacing, or anything like a more common "game", then this game probably isn't for you. Its main focus is the plot - it really is an interactive story. The exposition may seem slow to someone who is expecting a fast-paced game, but if you know what you're getting into, you should have the patience to get through it (and it isn't really THAT slow).
And just a note to the people bashing the repetitiveness, that's one of the keys to the gameplay. You watch the scene, then play through it, sometimes more than once. It's one of the major plot devices.
If you aren't into this kind of interactive-story, slower-paced, casual gaming, then this app isn't for you, but I will continue to recommend it to everyone :D I personally think that Apple should make an "Interactive Story" category in the App Store so we can find more games like that without weeding through hundreds of other games.
Overall, definitely five-star worthy in my book :D
