10k to half

I really do love Gipis- the pace cues throughout my race motivated me to run my 10k :15 seconds per mile faster than what I had set in the app for my goal. What can I say, I like to push the envelope.... But when it said, "Faster," I knew I needed to move. This is far better than a pace report at each mile. I will continue to run with this app. However, some improvements I'd like to see, in order of priority: 1. Interface/layout issue- Looking forward to the race day details is sometimes difficult- the bottom navigation menu hides the last race, and it's impossible to touch it to open it up. This ALMOST hampered my ability to use the app for my 10k. Luckily, right before the start I was able to touch and start the run. I don't want to run into this same issue before the start of the half- it was very stressful and not appreciated before my race. 2. Let us create a desired pace for an individual run that's not part of a plan. My 10k was not part of my half plan, so I had to create a new plan. 3. I had an experience months ago that steered me away from using the app - the page with the planned runs kept locking up.

Great Training App...But....

I am a previous MapMyRun user but needed some help with pacing while training for my first half. I really, really like that this app creates a plan based on your previous abilities, which ensures that (hopefully) your risk of injury decreases because you don't push yourself harder than what your body is capable of. My only issue with that is...a lot of the plan had me running at my easy pace for less than 1 hour. When you train at an easy pace and only throw in a few "harder" paced sessions at long distances, your body learns to run at the easy pace. So when my half marathon day rolled around, I didn't even come close to my goal. This was frustrating to me because I had been training for months. Now perhaps that was an unrealistic goal for my first half, but it was also the goal projected by Gipis.

I've signed up for another half and I'm going to follow Gipis' plan religiously again and see if it can get me to my goal. If not, I'll probably be on the lookout for a new training plan.

Exactly what I needed!

I did the C25k plan this summer, so I'm still a new runner. I really need a structured plan to keep running, and I wasn't interested in B210k. I wanted to improve my 31:30 5K time instead, but had no idea how to best do that. This app let me enter my details and made me a plan to run a Turkey Trot in under 30 minutes. So far (six weeks in) I feel I have learned a lot about running, my splits are getting faster, I've remained injury free. I am a lot more confident in knowing what pace I'm running and I love the feedback during each interval. I'm looking forward to my race and already thinking what next goal I can achieve with Gipis. Great app.
I'd like to sync with Runkeeper but I just run both apps together, no problem. They usually track within 0.05 miles of each other.
