Nothing even pretends to be private here
The latest update (Smart Replies) that suggests responses after reading your private email is a stark reminder that nothing in your email is private. Actually it's primary value lies in the fact that it is a good, daily reminder that you should remember that google is watching, analyzing and recording your every keystroke. Is it creepy? Yes, but... hmmm... no, It's just creepy. I now realize Sting's song "I'll be watching you" actually predicted google. Their EULA might be lifted from this song.
And your very analyzed email gives you ads based on your personal communications. (Don't we all love merchants listening in to our daily thoughts to friends and family so they can try to sell us stuff?) But they do deliver your email, so 2 stars... I think other email apps can do that too (and some try to let you be private). No need to steal privacy when we willingly surrender/sell it for a popular email app.

I could not imagine my life without google mail. All incoming messages are linked to my phone and computer. I have three separate emails and all are easily accessible from my phone or desktop, you just click on which one you want to open. One for my business, one for family and friends and one for school. It only takes seconds to set up and you can be as creative as your heart desires when choosing your email name. My kids are in elementary school and they have one as well....

Gmail for IOS is much better than it used to be. I miss features in the desktop version that has not been replicated in mobile with the breakout products like hangouts. Search chat being the main concern.
The secondary concern is search overall. Issues regarding finding things within are not a problem in the desktop version. Whereas in mobile I seem to lacking the true power of the dark si... or googles search engine.
