I'm not sure if I'm the only that feels this way or not but I feel like the game is rigged and you purposely go through either winning or losing streaks. I was getting better and better at the game and then out of no where, losing back to back to players who were much lower than I. At first I figured I just sucked at that round, however, I started noticing things. For example, I could hit a shot perfect 95% of the time. I definitely got the hang of it. But as I got higher in the game, I have seen the needle continue to move after I've released. This happens a lot during a losing streak. I've also notice that wind effects my ball much more then it'll effect the person I'm playing, for example, I was hitting to the green with 4.5 wind going with me. I drew back to the center of the gage, I released and my ball fell short and into the sand trap. When the guy I was playing was up, wind was in his face 3.2, he drew back just as much as I did, and made it to the green. This has happened several times. Maybe I'm just crazy but I truly feel like the game is rigged for you to have ups and serious downs.
Fun mechanics, horrible matchmaking
The game itself is a blast to play. However once you get past the lower levels, it's extremely difficult to compete with anyone. Every single person I play has the long hitting driver, so they can clear obstacles easily that I have to lay up short on, giving me almost no chance of winning unless they mess up their shot. I've been higher level than these people and still have never unlocked another driver. So either I'm unlucky or missed out when gave them away. Or these people paid money for it, literally making this a pay-to-win game, which is a shame. I would love to just play a course by myself but there isn't even a single player option. Deleted the app finally because I just got tired of games that even though I hit perfect shots, I had zero chance because they can get to the green in fewer shots without even having to risk hitting a power shot. They could easily solve this by separating divisions of players by the clubs they use, but it seems to be one big pool.
Fun game, and only takes a few minutes to play a hole, then you can come back to it as you have time.
I'll re-review in another week
Now it continuously pairs me with people 20,30, 50, or a 100 levels up. Haven't won a round in days.
I'll re-review in another week.
Now when I'm doing well, it seems to want to say my wifi/LTE signal has dropped even though every other device in my house is connected with no problem. Apple TV is cruising right along, but for some reason just my iPhone disconnects. Wife's iPhone, daughters iPhone, all good. I even checked my connection speed in another app while the game was telling me I didn't have connection it said I was downloading at 123 and uploading at 15. Seems maybe they want $$ and need you to lose the money you have so you'll be willing to spend it.
Also, especially at the higher levels, pretty much every game ends in a tie.
Also, chests as you move into upper levels don't give more than a few coins, so paying the 3000+ entry fees become a waiting game if you don't want to spend $$$. And he prices are high to buy jewels, to in turn buy coins with.
I'm just going to go out and play a round on the real course. It'll be less frustrating!
Moved from 5 star to 3 star, now to 2 star. I see why the people at higher levels have to go back and play the easier courses. Because they are actually pretty fun, and you don't have to spend real $$ to play them.
