Best auto advance of any app I've tried.
I use this app for note taking on my iPad Pro 9.7 inch. I am an education major with a focus on creative writing, so I have lots of lesson plans and pictures imported for prompts. This app is the simplest, most straightforward handwriting app. Others use text advancement at the end of the writing area. This one allows you to continue writing from the front. I find I can take much faster, more organized notes this way.
I do wish that there were more paper colors. The only thing that made me like notability was the option to use black paper. For some reason I really liked that I was able to organize my plans with the paper color - for instance, sixth grade was purple paper and first was orange. However, the ease of Goodnotes' text advancement made me come back to this app despite the rigidity of the paper colors.
Still The Best
I have tried multiple handwriting programs and have most of them but for me, this is the very best one. It is simple, intuitive, fast and works really well. My search has ended! While other programs have a lot of extra functions, they are confusing to use and not really that intuitive. If you use Apple Pencil and iPad Pro or Wacom styluses (as I used to), the integration and performance is perfection. I have used this for all ideas, meeting notes, journaling, sketching ideas, using on multiple devices (Mac, iPad Pro, iPhone) and all is connected VI's cloud without endless logins and having to remember endless passwords. One of the best products ever made for mobile devices.
Great but some flaws
I've tried a lot of different note-taking apps over the years, but I've always returned to GoodNotes. I've been using it for about 4-5 years now and it's been really helpful and useful for school. But there are some things I would like added. I would like more options or ways to organize my notes. I'd also like to be able to import multiple photos at once rather than having to do it one by one (unless there already is an option for that and I just haven't figured it out yet). And I wish the font would stop changing every time I import my Chinese notes into the app because some fonts change the way the characters look and it's not correct.
