One of the best app purchases I've made
I have used GoodReader on my iPhone for a number of years, and on my iPad for over a year now since getting an iPad. It has always been and continues to be a top-notch app. Its ability to communicate with SSL WebDAV servers (i.e. my own private cloud, not just the popular cloud services) and to store and navigate large PDF files efficiently are what first attracted me to it.
But as the app's pictures and description suggest, it does so, so much more! I've used a whole lot of its features on and off over the years to accomplish various tasks that this app enables the iPad to accomplish -- e.g. quickly using links from Safari to download audio and video files from websites for subsequent offline playing or personal archiving to my NAS; marking up, merging, deleting, rotating and signing (and in this latest version, signing just became a lot easier!) PDF files; transferring files from various servers to or from other apps; and making a quick photo gallery of pictures my family has posted to our home's NAS storage device.
The developers do a consistently good job at making a solid, dependable product, and they have always continued developing new, creative, trustworthy and useful features into the app, almost always for free. This app is a terrific, go-to tool, and an inexpensive investment that I'm very glad I made.
Still a 5 star but irritated
This app does everything GREAT except for one thing, and this is a problem with every single app out there so far that has a built in media player. I get so tired of downloading a 40 minute podcast MP3, getting 20 minutes into it, then pausing and coming back to it after an hour and then the app resumes the file at the 3 minute mark or something. Why can't anyone get this resume thing right? All I want it to do is resume the audio file exactly where I left off. I've tested over 20 apps out there that have built in media players and they ALL have this problem so I'm guessing it is an issue with the app dev kit or something. Will there ever, ever be an app that can solve this issue? Maybe in a few more years.. It still gets my 5 stars because it does so much and does it very well. The browser capabilities (such as remembering passwords, easier navigation and downloading files) need a little work as well but in due time.
this is the number one non Apple app on my iOS devices. the easiest PDf reader, solid file management app and just a breeze to connect to other servers.
The new addition of being able to add and edit signatures to files!!! Took the most useful app in the App Store and increased its awesomeness you just!!
5 stars keep them coming!!
