Okay - I am in my 60's, so technology tends to be more bothersome than helpful most of the time. The concept of having ONE PLACE to keep all your book information is brilliant: what you have read, what you want to read, book recommendations from others, etc. Navigating the site is what I find difficult; it is somewhat easier on my Kindle than on my iPhone, and if I am willing to keep trying different combinations, I can usually get to the part I am looking for...but not always. The scanning feature works about 60% of the time; invariably, when I am searching for something, I come across something I had previously been looking for, but not what I need right now. Someone who is not afraid to just tear into it may rate it higher; I find it better than nothing, but room for improvement.
I don't have room in my house for a bookcase nor do I have enough money to buy all the books I love and display them in my house. Therefore, when I found goodreads I found the perfect way to create a digital bookcase with reviews and all! I simply adore it :)
My only wish would be a DNF category aside from the usual ones (i.e.- "Currently Reading", "To Read", "Read"). Right now I have a handful of books on my "Read" list even though I didn't finish them. I hate taking credit for reading a book when I didn't but if I take it off my list I'll forget I tried it and try to read it later. Other than this small tweak I love it!
Yes, I'm giving this John Grisham 4stars. It honestly brought me more reading pleasure than I have had from a book in a while. One of the rare things about Grisham is he found a formula that worked and made him famous and wealthy, but he didn't stick to it. I love that! Some of my favorite books of his are the difference ones like " Painted House" and " The Testament ".
This book is also a different genre because it is like short stories. He describes several different cases. I found them all interesting even though the longest is about an odd topic for me.
I recommend this book if you are looking for an entertaining and light read that will keep you turning the pages quickly.
