Excellent balance between simplicity and usefulness
I've tried virtually all todo apps including Things, 2Do and many many others. What I find is that most of them are just too simplistic or they get too fancy like Things and 2Do. At first, these fancy todo apps are appealing and wonderful but after a short period of use I find myself using them less and less for some odd reason. Finally I've come to realize it's because they are inherently complicated. GoodTask has just the right balance between simplicity and usefulness. It pulls data from the native Reminders app and fills in all the gap that is missing yet still maintains the beauty and cleanness and marries quick action automation that allows you to change your todo items quickly. The customization is just the right amount providing everything you need but resisting complexity and clutter.
Hands down the best to do list out there.
Never crashes, freezes, or blacks out; works flawlessly. No monthly fees or perks to purchase; what you see is what you get. Very beautiful design, easy to use, and in calendar form but you can also see it as a list. I really can't think of one fault about this app. It's very professional, sleek, and contemporary. Very useful. The problem with urge to do list apps is that I'll use them at first but it won't last. I find myself using this everyday as part of my routine to getting things done and not forgetting tasks. If you're on the market for a new to do list app that works for you and you'll keep up with, get this one. Well worth it.
Pretty great, needs language parsing
**Update: new version, still can't enter "tomorrow 8am" to get a reminder for tomorrow at 8am. You have to enter dates with a SCROLL WHEEL--or mess with smart add. Skip the fussy rule making and use natural language! The app is mostly great when it comes to managing reminders but adding reminders feels way too slow.
So far, this is better than most other tasks managers I've tried. Integration with native Reminders means you can add tasks in lots of ways (esp via Siri, IFTTT) without any trouble. It has just the right amount of complexity--falling between the oversimplified and the managers so complicated you lose weeks of your life setting up your system.
I love that you can touch on a task and quickly change the due date. Vast improvement over the native app.
However, I don't care for adding new tasks since there is zero language parsing. Even when you write "today at 8pm," the "today at 8pm" shows up as part of the task--and the task is given "no due date." Even Siri, with her myriad disappointments, gets this!
Much prefer adding in Fantastical for this reason, which means I'm still cobbling together a task manager. With language parsing, this would be a clear winner.
