Mixed Race = Mixed Results

(The following is less about the app itself, but the A.I. Machine learning feature of the Painting Selfie Comparison)

tl;dr - Needs more Data about other races other than White/Caucasian, especially Asians. Results are okay.

The more we use machine learning based A.I. by giving it Data (i.e. your face) the better it will become. As a mixed race person, I’m fully aware I don’t look like a typical Asian or caucasian person, and the results reflect this. It chose a Caucasian artwork over an Asian one by +4%. The results reflect the bias of the Engineers and Designers of A.I. In general and we need to change this by hiring more People of Color. The data is only data, what matters is how it is interpreting, and with Google made up mostly of the White demographic, it makes sense. Keep trying, guys. Facial Recognition is still growing.

Great app, matched me to a picture of my relative

I read an ignorant app review about how we need engineers of color so that more history of colored people will appear, as if engineers of color will somehow find the history of colored people magically that doesn’t exist and bring those magical museums with all those nonexistent artifacts from fantasyland to reality.

Hey racist mixed Asian app reviewer, I’m pretty sure that calling people of color “people of color” is racist, not only towards everyone since we are all a color, but it sounds like you’re in 1950’s grade school referring to people that aren’t of the white color, which is racist towards white people. Sorry dude, they make a black, red, brown, yellow, MAGA orange, and white crayon, it’s not translucent, it’s a color too. Racist.

Now as for this app, it’s great. Lots of work has been spent on this app to bring the level of detail to it, as well as so many features, such as everyone’s favorite of matching a selfie with artwork. It matched me with a king of a country that I know I am related to. First or second try!! That’s pretty good.

As for my racist half Asian friend whom complained about this feature: read my opinion about this at the top of my review.
