What's New in Version 1.6.1
Introducing shared albums – a new, easy way to pool photos and videos with whomever you want, across any smartphone, tablet, or computer. Just select photos, tap the Share icon, and select Shared Album. People you share the link with can add photos to the album and get notified when new moments are added, no matter what device they’re on.
There’s also a new way to free up space on your device – without losing a photo. Just navigate to Settings and tap “Free up space.” Photos that are safely backed up will be removed from your device’s storage, but will still be available in Google Photos.

• Chromecast support: Cast your photos and videos to your TV, even if they haven't been backed up yet. And don’t worry – when you’re casting, people will only see the photos you tap on.

I love this app, seriously!
How many of us take thousands of pictures and they just live on our phones never to be seen again? I certainly did, along with thousands more from my camera. I look forward to the rediscover this day, it might be from 10 years ago! Do you have trouble walking and chewing gum at the same time? Depth perception issues? Trash your smart phone regularly? Then this app is for you for you, the auto backup feature just works! The search! It must be using the force. Luke Skywalker doesn't have anything on this search. Want to see all the mountains, waterfalls, garbage trucks you've taken pictures of, BAM! There they are with just a quick search. Need to quickly find all those old girlfriend/boyfriend pics quickly, BAM! There they are in a couple of clicks. Take a trip of the lifetime all the pictures show up in a storybook! Do yourself a favor and download the app, no seriously! Click it and get it!
Great app
I downloaded this app in hopes to free up space on my iPhone 5s. It worked! I now use this as my only photo storage (and I have unlimited space for free!) I sync my photos on the app before deleting off my iPhone's photos app. This is such a help for me and downloads videos as well! I keep maybe 15 photos in the iPhone photo app at a time and the rest of my memories are on Google photos!
One thing I would change is the option to change the date of MULTIPLE photos at a time on Google photos instead of one at a time because sometimes the dates get messed up if you upload photos from your computers photos. There is also a great Google photos app for the Mac computers that I love and can drag and drop all my computers photos in the Google photo app! Overall great app, just some things I would fix.
Loving Google photos
I absolutely love Google Photos.
The assistant is remarkable, I love to take photos but i don't have the time to actually make them into something like a collage or a video slide. But Google photos does, getting those great moments and putting them together for you to share with family and friends.
Also getting that unlimited storage for free is also truly a great stress free feature to have.
But do take note that unlimited storage does take your photos and takes the quality down a bit. But other than that Google photos is a great fun way to relive those moments in your life.
