In-text search box could use some work
I use Google Books to purchase my books for college and I love the availability and pricing. However, there is a major annoyance when it comes to searching for text in the book. The search buttons reveals a box on the right hand side which covers almost the entire second page. It's very hard to see text that is being highlighted because it's being covered by the search box. I would really like to suggest making the box expand the second page so it doesn't cover up the text.
I've access my book from a 27" display and no matter how much I increase the size of the window, the box still covers almost the entire second page. The same annoyance is also present on iPad. I love the books I purcahse and the reliability of the apps just I wish the search box design could be improved.
Great app
I've never had an issue with the app. I use both droid and apple products and have had nothing problem syncing the books I read on each device. It even prompts me that I read the book on another device, the I was on and if I want to go to the same page. I've used this app for a while and I love it.
Don't do it
I typically support everything Google. However, this is not a great app. I downloaded a book for school on this app but I have the hardest time highlighting anything. Adobe acrobat made it so easy on their app but Google is far behind. You have to press and hold for over 10 seconds to get a word to highlight, then when you try to highlight more text by dragging your finger, the screen moves instead. I could have bought a paper format and been able to high light faster and make notes. Super disappointed, annoyed, and frustrated.
