The ultimate match management tool and timekeeper for football referees working at all levels of the game.

Currently one of the referee’s pre-match admin tasks is to list all the players and subs. These are usually paper based team sheets, handed out to referees before the game.

GOREF simplifies this process by adding the match details and starting players and subs straight into the iPhone prior to the game.

The referee then simply transfers the match data to the Apple Watch ready for the start of the game. The app tracks all match data and incidents the referee inputs into the Apple Watch during the game, such as goals (time scored and goal scorer), subs and any yellow or red cards given.

After the game the match data is transferred back to the iPhone ready for the referee to complete their match reports at their own convenience.

GOREF fully enhances the match day experience for referees and there is nothing similar on the market that performs the same functions, enabling the referee to manage the whole game from match set up to exporting the completed match data to their iPhone.

• Four Timers including stopwatch, elapsed time, added time and half time.
• Alerts – using sound and prominent haptics (vibrations) – these can be adjusted in your Apple Watch Settings.
• Transfer match data between Apple Watch and iPhone.
• Time of each incident recorded and captured for match reports.
• Tournament feature that covers extra time and penalties.

Recommended Settings for GOREF for Apple Watch:

1. Wake screen to resume to previous activity:
Settings > General > Wake Screen > Resume to > Previous Activity ON
2. Remove Passcode for matches to prevent passcode appearing when disconnected from phone:
Settings > Passcode > Turn Passcode Off
3. Turn on Do Not Disturb mode for matches to avoid alerts:
Settings > Do Not Disturb > ON

App has a ton of potential!

This app is a good sign for those who support the digitizations of sport and of the world. Though in its early stages, this app shows promise in easing the job of the soccer/football official as he arbitrates the world's sport.

The app offers an easy means of managing time, with a perpetual count-up clock for official time, a large count-down clock for "time remaining," and a third clock that can keep track of lost stoppage time.

The app allows the user to easily and quickly enter goal, card, and substitution information as the game is happening. A goal by number 8 on the orange team can be entered in three or four presses, and the same can be said for cards. The app keeps track of cards and therefore notifies the referee about second cautions as well (automatically issuing the player a red card as well).

The app is quite flexible regarding match properties, including half/game duration, halftime length (optional), overtime length (optional), substitutions allowed (1-12 or unlimited), and more.

If you're thinking to yourself "Man, I wonder if it keeps track of ______", then the answer is probably yes, and you should try it out.

I do agree with others who note that the app has room for improvement. Ease and quickness of operation are important things to have on the pitch. Regardless, this app makes me really excited about where we are headed, and I highly recommend downloading and trying this app if you're a referee.

Very close - But not there yet

Setting up a match on game day is too time consuming and you cannot do it the day before unless you have the game day roster, which for the leagues I do, is not going to happen. There needs to be a way to setup matches days in advance without knowing the roster. No codes for cards is a problem. It also needs a stronger haptic for end of half and end of game. It would also be nice to be able to pick the team color, so that when entering a goal I can simply go by color.

The app crashed on me on during a game test (I was AR). Only recourse was to restart the watch. I like it but can't use it if it can crash.

Great Idea

This app has great potential to be the best ref watch app out there. Easy to use but has a few issues.
First needs and "undo" feature so if you make an error you can redo it instead of ruining the integrity of all your data.
Second, a vibrate feature when you pause time would be most helpful
Third but probably most importantly the need to be able to enter team numbers instead of just preset 0-20, since many teams use larger numbers nowadays!
Otherwise excellent app for use if you have the time to set up!
