Gorilla Workout contains 4 levels that provide different workouts depending on your current fitness level. Level 1 is for those of you who are just getting into the fitness game and will have you starting with exercises like wall push ups, air squats, and lunges. Level 4 is for the extremely athletic type, where you'll be performing intense exercises like burpees, pistols, and one arm push ups.

Every exercise comes with a detailed text description on the muscle group worked, how to perform each movement of the exercise, and even contains a video of a real person performing the exercise so you can always ensure your form is right.

Fix the running portions

Most of these workouts are great. You burn a lot of fat and gain some great muscle if you stick to the routines.

The only fault I have with this is the workouts that involve running and sprinting. Most of the workouts that involve these include other exercises like pull-up, push-ups, dips, burpies, crunches, etc.. In theory these would be great exercises to be doing in between runs but it doesn't sound like the creators put much thought logistically in how to accomplish this. Most of the routines are easy enough to do in your home, but for those of us who aren't blessed to have a home gym (hence why you would want to use this app), logically it makes sense that you are going to have to go outside to accomplish the running portions. And unless you are fortunate enough to have access to a running track or some type of open field, it would just be silly to have to stop your run and do a bunch of burppies or crunches on the side of a road or in a parking lot just to continue the workout. It would make most sense if you had a treadmill, but how many people actually own their own personal treadmill?

Not a big fan of the cardio challenges just because logistically they don't make a lot of sense, I don't know where I would be able to do them. But other than that the rest of the workouts are great.


This was the app that started it all for me about 2 yrs. ago. Made me lose weight and get in shape. For different reasons (injury and work) last year I just stopped using it. Then at the beginning of this year I wanted to start exercising, because I needed to lose weight again. Started slowly with cardio and stretching and also stand up paddle boarding. So I realized that I needed to strengthen my muscles for SUP and running. Thinking that maybe a new app would do the trick, I browsed and tried different ones. That was a mistake, they had too many bells and whistles for me, stupid ads and unreal promises. So I said to my self "stick with what you know and works for you". This app is just that, no nonsense, no bells and whistles, only pure exercises and easy to follow instructions. My only constructive criticism would be, that it would be good to have warm up and a cool down routines to follow. Other than that, I'm very satisfied with the app and the consistency of the results. Would recommend it without a doubt.

Good Workouts

I have had this app through three pregnancy and did not start using it until a week ago. The workouts are short enough to fit anywhere in your schedule and long enough to get a nice workout out of. Will definitely continue to use the app to help me in shedding weighted gained these last 4-yrs of being pregnant.
