LDS Gospel Art Book contains all of the wonderful images from the LDS Gospel Art Book in an easy to use form. Use it around home to admire the beauty of the scriptures, for family home evening lessons, or as a learning tool for your children or grandchildren. At Church kids of all ages love to glance at the images during sacrament meeting (it helps keep the little ones reverent and focused on gospel principles). As a lesson aid at Church, it's an amazing supplement to have - no more trips to the library to try and have them find pictures for you. Each image can be quickly found by image name or number.
★ Easily order the images by name or image number. The image number is the same number the Church uses in their manuals so you can quickly locate the image you need.
★ Sort for images by name or number
★ View images in portrait or landscape modes
★ Swipe the screen while viewing an image to go to the next/previous image
★ Tap on an image to view it in full-screen mode
★ The Text button at the top of each image will give you information and details about the image.
★ Images can be saved to your Photo library for use in other apps or as homepage images or backgrounds.

What's New in Version 1.10
Added new look to the app and added iPad retina display icon.
Fixed a couple of minor issues.
Useful but lacking
Overall, three stars for functionality and value. Having gospel art pictures to share during lessons is important. But this app is lacking important features and content. One key feature is being able to select pictures for a lesson and being able to order the pictures based in the lesson layout or order.
Another key feature missing is the ability to zoom in on pictures. In my first use, the app was lacking one of two pictures referenced in lesson 40 of Primary 2 CTR A - picture 2-56 'The Trial of Jesus'. I suspect a trend coming that a significant portion of pictures referenced will be missing. If no changes were made to the app, I would say this app is worth $0.99. A feature that should be added is the ability to view thumbnail pictures.
Great to have
This is a great app to use while teaching. The children are fascinated to see the picture on an IPad as opposed to me holding up a printed Gospel art picture from the Primary manual. Yes, there are a few pictures missing but as another reviewer commented it may be the pictures are copyrighted. One reviewer lamented that he couldn't enlarge a picture however my teaching partner did just that by pinching and spreading his fingers on the screen. I tried and it didn't work so will have to inquire how he did it. This app, bible videos and children song book with the bouncing ball are a terrific combination.
Better than carrying a big book
The On-line Store advertises 137 pictures in the printed version. I count 147 in the iPad Version. Yes, some pictures are apparently protected by copy write laws , but I ended up with 10 extras!
Some reviewers complain about not being able to bookmark pictures and order them. But try this.
1- Save the desired pictures.
2- Go to Camera Roll.
3- Create a new folder for the lesson.
4- Add the pictures in the right order into the new folder.
And the whole thing is on my iPad along with hymns, scriptures, manuals, etc.
