Description

Screen Recording Permission Issues? Try the following: http://aslattery.com/grabbit.html

Grabbit is a screen capture utility that sits in the menu bar, so it is always available and you don't need to remember the standard complicated key combinations.
Just click on the Grabbit menu icon and choose the type of capture you want: Full Screen, Window or Area of the screen. You can also take a "Time Lapse" - a number of screen shots over a period of time.

It's simple, fast and not cluttered with features that you'll never use.

Grabbit is fully configurable:

- Use the menu bar icon or configure your own keyboard shortcuts
- Choose the location of the save files
- Add a copy of the image to the Clipboard, so you can just paste into emails and other documents
- Choose the filename template (subsequent captures add a number to the end)
- Include or exclude the mouse cursor
- Include or exclude the window's shadow
- Turn on or off the camera sounds

A Nice App…Needs One Additional Feature...

I like this app…it's simple and it does the job. It needs one additional feature though…

Right now the icon on the menu bar responds the same way when you left-click or right-click. A nice feature would be to make it so that LEFT-clicks work the way they do now (i.e., the menu pops up asking what type of grab you want to do)…and RIGHT-clicks automatically begin a screen grab using the same method you used the last time. For example, if I LEFT-click and choose "Grab Area" and do my screen capture…and then…RIGHT-click on the Grabbit icon to do another screen capture it skips opening the menu and automatically opens the cross-hairs for another "Grab Area" type capture. Or, if I LEFT-clicked and chose "Grab Window" for a screen capture…successive RIGHT-clicks would just go right to the "Grab Window" mode without having to choose "Grab Window" from the drop-down menu. You can always do another LEFT-click at any time to choose a different grab type which resets the grab type that RIGHT-clicking does.

This would be nice because there are times when I do a series of "Grab Area" type screen captures in succession and having to repeatedly click twice to open the menu and then select "Grab Area" starts to involve a lot of clicks.

Love it

I noticed that you guys changed the name.

I love this because all I wanted was a button on my menubar that lets me silently grab screenshots of some areas in my desktop.

That's it, I'm happy.
