Remember when you used to sit in church, or at school, and they pulled out a storyboard and felts to illustrate a story? Well, that’s what we have for you now: electronic felts built on the GraceLink Bible Study Guides
The app comes complete with a library of “felts” that can be used to tell almost any story from Scripture. We plan to release weekly graphic packs that relate to the week’s animation.
There’s a lockerbox to keep the resized “felts” so that when you’re telling the story it is placed exactly where you chose to place it and at the size you chose.
“Crayons” are provided so children (and the rest of us) can draw their own story, or add “colour” to the laid out felt story. (Yes, we plan to work on this some more)
We even have an email feature so that you can email the finished storyboard to kids in your class, or kids can email grandparents, or parents can upload it to Facebook or Twitter. (Hey! We created it, what you choose to do with it is totally up to you)
The lessons for Beginner, Kindergarten, and Primary Bible Study Guides are included in the app. In Settings, you can choose to read the Teacher Editions if you need to prepare to teach a class.
(We didn’t add audio and video to the app because we understand kids may choose to access that content in the middle of quiet time at public gatherings. Yes, we’re parents, too.)
Please use the contact option, within the app, to let us know what you’d like added.
What's New in Version 1.1.6
This app is pretty good but has some significant annoyances. For example, the lessons aren't consistently loaded on time. Also, the felts are a little challenging to figure out as they duplicate easily and disappear from the locker easily. Nevertheless, the felts and the virtual crayons are quiet alternatives for keeping little ones occupied during church.
Love this app! Great for kids. Sometimes it crashes, but we still get a lot of use out of it.
Can't pull up any felts. This is what a Kindergartener wants to see the most. They are visual learners. Haven't been able to use this software with any confidence in quite some time.
