Grand Prix Builder puts you in charge of creating the race track. Use this to your advantage and create a track to suit your car.
Every car has a different setup for each race (acceleration, braking, top speed and cornering). Design a track to maximise your setup and win the race. The cars race automatically based on their setup. Races are won by thousandths of a second and victories are determined by your track building skills.
Featuring four game modes:
• Championship (Build tracks and race in ten countries across six seasons)
• Challenge (Win races by determining the best car setup across 120 tracks)
• Time Trial (Record the fastest times across 8 tracks by adjusting your setup during the race as often as you like)
• Practice Mode

What's New in Version 1.1
Sound bug fixed when continuing championship mode
A very simple concept with a lot of depth. Any F1 or other racing fans interested in the nuances of vehicle performance should get this. Basically you build a GP track that best matches the performance characteristics of your vehicle, which is randomized before each race. It a tricky balancing act to factor in acceleration, speed, braking and cornering in your track design whilst considering your opponents strengths and weaknesses.
Fortunately you can make a single fine-tuning adjustment on lap 3 of 4 to try to snatch back that 3 hundredths of a second you find yourself behind because you put in too many hairpins for the black car with supreme braking. Then there's the chance of rain to completely mix up the performance equation.
There's only 3 corner types, and the graphics are... hmm let's say 'functional', but this works well for the game. I'm having a ton of fun with this and hope it really takes off. I'm excited to see where this new game mechanic can go. I can imagine a sequel that includes real racing with overtaking, driver skill, team management and a ton more complexity. As it stands this version is great in its elegant simplicity.
This has potential, but it would be a lot more fun to have more flexibility in course creation to be able to experiment with what happens. Right now, it's too difficult to make a course that is accepted - way too many attempts, so when it comes time to make a course again, it becomes a turn off instead of fun play, discovery & experimentation.
Tweak it a little! It has great potential.
Too technical and luck based
Cars overlap so it is just a time trial for each car instead of an actual race. Luck (or superhuman reactions) is too involved. Is a luck puzzler about cars. Boring gameplay watching car drive around on the exact same line over and over again and not much involvement. Too many limitations, not sandbox-like. Decent graphics.
