Great Clips Online Check-In
This app saves you time! Busy? Ahead of time, use it to add your name to the list at your local Great Clips salon.
How does it save you time?
When you’re on the list, chances are you’ll be next as soon as you arrive.
How does it work?
It’s easy – just open the app and the salons nearest your current location will appear. Touch the salon that has the estimated wait time that fits you best, then tell us your name, number and how many are in your group. Then, head right over to your Great Clips salon to receive the quality haircut or service you want. Download this app and you've made getting a great haircut even easier.
For safety and privacy reasons we do not publish stylist schedules through the App. The estimated wait time when you check in is based on the next available stylist. You can request a stylist upon arrival at the salon but, if you do so, your wait may be longer.
Next time, save time!
The Great Clips application was designed and developed by Innovative Computer Software and utilizes ICS Net Check In™.

Allows me to be added to wait list remotely!
Great Clips has always been a great place for a hair cut for me as I don't like to wait. Although they don't allow appointments the wait time is typically 15 minutes or less, yes! Online check-in allows me to see current estimated wait time and have my name added to the bottom of the current wait list so by the time I arrive I can be serviced before others who are added to the wait list after me...so even if someone walks into the salon just before I do, I will be ahead of them. I also find the estimated wait time allows me to determine if I want to stop into the Home Depot next door first, instead of after my cut. I don't think Great Clips allows you to abuse the remote check-in process though, in other words, check-in at say 9am knowing you aren't planning on showing up until 11am, which is reasonable everyone would abuse it...I believe there is a 1 hour limit that you remain in the list? Since their business is no appointment based anyway, I don't view it as an appointment scheduling app anyway. Overall, I find it to be a good app and another extension of their convenience based service model. Not sure about the other reviews I have read, perhaps negative reviews made by their competitors?
This app gets a review of zero stars because if you select don't allow for location you are stuck on an inescapable map where you can't even manually type in your location or exit the location portion of the app to a home screen!!!! Essentially you are severely punished for not selecting allow for location. This is absolutely unacceptable!!! In order to exit the app you have to uninstall and reinstall. If you select allow the app seems to work fine. Just an FYI!!! Not everyone wants to have their location on and running in the background it drains the battery faster. This is a MAJOR FAIL in my book because when you want to use an app quickly to make your life easier and more convenient you don't want to jump through a bunch of hoops to get to what you downloaded the app for in the first place!!! This is an obvious problem with the app that is immediately detectable after clicking on don't allow. You would think that a programmer would take the time to thoroughly test their creation before unleashing it on the public but then that would be to easy for most lazy programmers!!! Geeez!!! 😡👎🏻
What is the advantage? Completely pointless
So I check in as I drive to the mall about 9:45am.
Walking to the shop from my car, another customer walks thru the door into the shop just ahead of me.
There is nobody waiting for a cut at all.
Online check in sir? No, he says.
I indicate I have checked in online.
They ask ME to sit and wait. The other guy goes straight thru for a haircut.
So I was already in line supposedly. How does he get straight thru while I am asked to wait???
What's the benefit? Absolutely none whatsoever. Sure, I only waited like 4 minutes, but I thought the idea was LESS waiting? Especially in TODAY'S example!!
Deleting this app. I may as well just walk in.
I like most of the stylists (except the one who thought I should wait and when I said, "oh? I have to wait?" She said, "just a few minutes" - obviously hasn't got a clue or the online checkin process is nothing)
Pam, who cut my hair was great. My wait was for her while she got set up in her position for her first customer.
She did a good job on my hair and made me laugh too. She is the only reason today's odd experience might have me return to this store in Norcross, GA.
I'm tempted to try somewhere else though. Just because of this stupid pointless checkin system.
