What's New in Version 1.5
iOS 7 and some minor fixes.
After watching Shark Tank, I was so excited about this process that I immediately downloaded the app. I read the reviews and thought that maybe it wasn't such a good idea. I waited a few days and decided to give it a try anyway! As with movie reviews, people will give a low rating for the smallest, dumbest little things. As far as the company sending someone's pics to the wrong person, I'm not that worried about it. People make mistakes. Geez give them a break people. They're a startup company giving a GREAT deal. I don't have any pics that I care for other people seeing and if others do, then they shouldn't send them off to be printed. My uploading experience was just fine. Took me around 10 to 15 minutes because my phone locked and when I went back in, it said no internet connection. All you have to do is keep the phone from locking. My iPhone 5 did great with the uploading. I can hardly wait to see the finished product. They would really have to screw up big for me to give them anything but 5 stars. If you're going to whine and complain because you don't know what you're doing with the app, then don't download it! Think about it, it's only $2.99! You probably spend more than that on a cup of coffee. Give these people a break! I don't usually write long reviews, but after reading all these negative reviews, I had to express my opinion. And that's all this is, MY OPINION!
Wanted to like this app so bad.
I was so excited about Groovebook and told all of my friends about it. However it took almost a month to get here not "7 days" I uploaded 100 photos and when I finally received the book about 10 of the pictures were not pictures I selected. Which was okay, I figured I just made a mistake. But when I started taking the pictures out of the book the pictures are very poor quality, most of them very dark and pixelated. When I began taking the photos out about 25% of the ripped because the photo paper is so thin. And it took me quite a bit to get each photo out of the book. When I finally got all of them out of the book they are too big to fit in my 4x6 photo albums. Every single 4x6 photo album I own. So I then had to cut each photo to fit inside the albums. I gave it three stars because I like the idea of them book and the price is unbeatable. However I really think they shouldn't put them in a book. The thin paper is fine but when they are in the book they rip soo easily. And I think they should make the photos smaller so they will actually be 4x6. I understand the time because this app is fairly new and they got a lot of business out of nowhere. And I understand the quality because I'm only paying $2.99. However I could live without them ripping and being the wrong size :)
Like others, I experienced difficulties making my first upload, losing progress, having to start over, slow response time. After 30 minutes or so it went through. This was a couple of days after seeing it on shark tank. What an amazing idea! Judging from these posts many people thought the same.
A couple of weeks later I get an email saying they are overwhelmed by the shark tank response and are working hard to increase production to meet these new demands. Makes sense. They did just advertise their entirely awesome, but small, company to literally millions of people. And the point of being on the show was to grow their company, which they are in the process of doing. Their sales obviously skyrocketed because of that night, so they need to adjust accordingly. Cut them some slack! Their production and customer service will improve as they catch up. It's only been a few weeks!
Today I received my AWESOME Groovebook and I can't wait to be getting them every month. It was everything they advertised. If you bailed because you got miffed about the slow app, lack of responsiveness, or amount of time it took to receive the book (in the very month it went on shark tank) then it's your loss!
