What's New in Version 5.1.0

You've been asking for this feature for a long while and now its here: we've added Calendar to GroupMe. We're sorry if this makes your standard excuse of "Oh, that was tonight?!" invalid.

Just name it. Describe it. Add a location. Maybe even a photo. A couple of alerts later and hooray! It's a party.

Also, @-mentions are in! Just type an '@' in a group to immediately get the attention of that person who is definitely ignoring you.

If you have additional feedback or issues, please don't hesitate to send us a line at ios@groupme.com.
And if you're enjoying the app, we more than appreciate positive reviews in the app store. Thanks!

Notifications

Does anyone else have an issue with their notifications? First and foremost, I find it irritating that I still receive the badge notification for groups I have muted, but The badge still shows when I've already read the message? I often have to click on the app, go to all of my chats, exit the app, and repeat, in order to get rid of it. It's honestly frustrating and extremely misleading; if I didn't notice the badge was acting up again, I would click on the app expecting new messages. I don't know if I'm the only person experiencing this problem, but it's honestly the worst. Overall, groupme has definitely improved just over the past year, especially from when it was extremely glitchy. I still prefer LINE as my goto message app, but this app is good for talking to students, I guess. Still a bit glitchy sometimes.

Great App

This is a really cool app, much better to use to group chat then using regular sms group chat, I use he iphone and find his app much better and more fun to use. There are cool emojis, cool features like the calendar (which I don't use lol) and overall it's really cool. I haven't discovered every corner of the app, so so far I hardly see any problems, what leaves me with concern is how come anyone in a group can kick out anyone except the creator of that group? I kinda think there should b an option where you can have some type of poll to kick someone from the group. Also what would be cool is if you were able to live video chat, so so how connect it to skype? That would be cool. Overall very well designed app, the design seems simple, but makes it a whole lot of fun!

Notifications

The actual messaging app itself is fine, not spectacular but it gets the job done and it's clean and easy to use. The glitches with notifications kill me. I'll set the conversations to mute for a period of time, and half way through (often less than half way) I'll start receiving notifications. I check the app, it still says my conversations are muted. It's a battery and data sucker for me at times, and frustrating to try to find updates I actually need from my lock screen when there's a sea of chat notifications that aren't supposed to be there.
