What's New in Version 5.7.0
TL;DR - Dark Mode! We love getting your feedback, so please keep it coming. The new release includes:
· Dark Mode! It covers the main screens (stay tuned for more), and can be enabled from the app Settings. Great for using GroupMe in the middle of the night!
· It is now possible to change the phone number associated with your GroupMe account from within the app.
· Fixed a bug that would cause duplicates to appear in the gallery.
· It is now possible to save a received video message.
· GroupMe is now compliant with Apple's App Transport Security tech.

I've been using GroupMe for the past 4 years with student organizations in college and it has benefits but a few drawbacks.
everyone in the organization is connected
easy media sharing
easy to use
unfiltered, can quickly blow up your phone because of chatty members
requires constant checking to keep up
you have to scroll up to find anything, so if the message you are looking for was from a few days ago then good luck on finding it in large groups. This makes record keeping a nightmare
anyone can kick anyone from a group, so one funny guy can kick everyone, except the creator of the group, if he wanted to
When adding an event it sends a notification for every person who rsvps, which buries the event in the messages
Calendar needs work to make it easier to access
There should be the option to set levels of members in a group to make them "un-kickable" or give them limited access concerning group features
How could it be better?
If members in a group are taught proper etiquette, then GroupMe works great. When they are not then things get out of hand. Adding membership types and limited access to tools would simplify things for groups without etiquette.
I love the usefulness of the GroupMe, but it enables groups to be unorganized and not plan ahead, so I've tried to stay limited in using it after a while. Make things less cluttered and more organized, then I'll start using it again.
When I first got group me , it worked pretty great. But after a few months I would get notifications that people were talking in the chat but when I went to it , I could see no new messages ! I refreshed the app , I even went as far as deleting the app and reinstalling it. That STILL didn't work. I have very important info being discussed in various groups that I am involved in and it hurt my reputation and status when this happened. I opened it on my computer and it was VERY slow at opening and loading the darn conversations. Since all of this , nothing has happened again and I hope it doesn't. Because when it does it makes me want to throw my phone at the wall lol
Very good just missing an important option
Keeps everyone in our group connected. Good way to get info out to everyone. They should have a very important button that way when only a few people in group engage in a conversation only relevant to those conversing everyone doesn't have to be informed Everytime a message is sent. Otherwise alerts keep going off making you turn off alerts and then forgetting to turn alerts back on therefore possibly missing important info meant for now everyone in group.
