Thanks for using the Groupon app! Here at Groupon, we strive to deliver the best deals to you by improving your experience every time we release a new version of our app. Our updates include many new features, improvements and bug fixes.
I really like the deals you can find for spas & messages in your local area. Just a great way to support small businesses and invest in your community. But when it comes to the "Goods" section mainly all the products are made in China. We know a lot is made in China but a lot is made in the USA too. Groupon should really include US made products more to give back to ourselves and encourage people to buy locally. Not all but most of the goods I've bought don't have the best quality for materials and assembled haphazardly. I know we are buying things on super discount but that doesn't mean that it should fall apart or be made cheaply. I own a store and my products are handmade, fair trade and top quality and really reasonably priced and I still offer 50% 60% even 70% discounts on items and the product quality does not change. I just feel that Groupon should really consider a quality control department if they don't have one already and a Made in US tab.
As for the app itself they could upgrade a few more features one in particular a better check out format where you can edit or make sure you are ready to buy just in case you change your mind or hit the "Buy Now" button accidentally.
Some issues are extremely annoying.
Deals are great BUT there are several interface issues that make the mobile app extremely frustrating. First is the notifications, turned them off and they STILL pop up ever single time I unlock my phone. Second is the buy it now button at the bottom, it charges whatever card you have on file right away instead of letting you edit the order. Page layout forces you to have to REMEMBER to scroll all the way to the bottom the offer (annoying as it is already) in order to choose a different card or buy as a gift. Third, if you forget or accidentally hit the buy button there is no "are you sure?" confirmation and it charges your card IMMEDIATELY, if you cancel the instant after, it takes 2-3 business to refund and you end up getting hit with a double charge. READ THIS GROUPON!!! FIX IT!!! NAO!!!
This sight is awesome for products or services that do not require delivery and cost less than $200. Beyond that, their commitment to "24 hour communication" is suspect at best! It makes me wonder about some of their bigger ticket vendors and whether they're on the up & up! I ordered a 65" TV at a great price and it came DESTROYED!! Three different major cracks in the screen! I haven't heard from them in three days and we're heading into the weekend! I did get their survey asking for feedback on customer support...which of course was awful! Come tomorrow, I'll be disputing the charge with my credit card company and let them figure it out! Oh...and the one thing they CLEARLY don't want is actual physical communication. Try finding a call in number on their website...which is the only place you can actually file a complaint!! Horrible experience! Will use them but not for anything over $100 which requires shipping!
