Studio Devil Guitar Amp is a guitar tube amplifier emulation effect that turns your iPhone, iPod Touch, or iPad into an authentic-sounding guitar tube amp rig with effects and all the tone and dynamics you expect from the real thing.
This app requires headphones or a line out adapter plugged into the headphones jack AND a guitar input device (such as the Apogee JAM, Amplitube iRig, Peavey AmpKit, or similar guitar interface) to function properly.
Guitar Amp brings you the tone of coveted vacuum tube amps using Studio Devil's proprietary vacuum tube modeling technology. Select from three different amp styles and three different amplifier speaker cabinets...then tweak the gain, level, bass, and treble knob controls just like on real amps. Tones range from classic clean (GREEN amp), to British Crunch (YELLOW amp), and on to Modern Lead (RED amp). Cabinet choices help sculpt your tone with the choice of practice amp, large combo, or half-stack! With gain knob and tone stack controls modeled after real tube amp circuits, Guitar Amp lives up to Studio Devil's reputation for delivering the ultimate in guitar amp realism and expressive feel.
Guitar Amp also includes Delay Box, an echo modeler / delay pedal effect which lets you add echo to your tone for spacious leads...with delay, repeats, level, and style controls, this echo modeler lets you dial in any tone: digital delay, analog bucket brigade, tape echo effects, and anywhere in between!

Great amp sim
I have had Studio Devil since it first came out for computer.
I happened upon the i-phone - pad version by chance and downloaded it.
I must say that it is excellent. I tried it into my Line6 Sonic Port into a pair of
near field studio moniters. It may not be long in the features but the ONLY feature I find important is the amp modeling and is shines. The delay is just the right touch of
space. It is also very light on space use which is another good point with the computer version. Amazing for the quality actually. If Gallo adds a reverb algorithm
to this it will be epic!
The stompbox for the discriminating ear.
Pricey compared to other guitar amp emulators, with only a distortion and delay effects. While there aren't a gajillion effects here, the sounds rock. It's built by Studio Devil, who make incredibly real effects plugins for desktop. The best sounding of all the guitar effects I've tried.
+ tone control (style) and ping pong give you spacious sound landscape control
+ works with most input devices (tested with: Apogee Jam, Guitar Jack2, iRig, AmpKit, iRiffPort)
+ Play over iPod and rhythm apps that support background audio like MoDrum
+ settings screen has an input sensitivity control
- no landscape mode
- no record feature to capture practice
This app makes some very nice sounds. Great articulation and pick response. I think its simplicity is a benefit to playing. I really am enjoying the tone I am getting with my Strat - red amp, middle cab position. Stop fiddling and play.
