info panels unusable
The map part of the app has a lot to offer, except for the one thing I really wanted — geolocation to indicate where I am in the map as I move around. I found myself constantly switching over the Google Maps to see where I was. Other than that, the biggest disappointment are the information “panels” associated with map points. There seem to be static graphics rather than html files that adjust to fit the size of your screening — monitor, iPad, or smart phone. They are unreadable until you hit “full size.” Then, you have to drag the graphic back and forth like a typewriter carriage as you read each line of text. That is simply hostile to the user and should not be in the app. Eh, but what do you want for 99 cents?
I have ridden my bike along the gwynns falls trail many times, and it is a really cool trail (I start in Ellicott City and meet up with the trail in Franklintown and ride to the inner harbor area). I like being able to see exactly where I am located and I also enjoy the many historical facts embedded in the app.. If you are riding or walking the trail do yourself a favor and get this app.
Looking to explore the more scenic areas of Baltimore and stumbled upon this great little Gwynns Falls Trail app. Nice hiking features. Love the ability to tag photos so that I can share images of my hike.
