First you have your water, towel, iPod or iPhone and then maybe an index card or clipboard to remember what setting you last used on each machine. Or if you are like me, you keep telling yourself that next time you will bring that index card to write it down but never do.

Well here it is! The app that will eliminate at least ONE of those pesky things you have to carry around. Gym Friend. Good start; needs more

I like what's here, but the app needs a bit more functionality to really take the place of the much-less-convenient pad of Xeroxed papers. In particular, the ability to define activities is good. However, the app really needs the abstraction of a "workout," a "routine," or some such. For instance, I might have a list of 40 exercises, of which I do several (warmups, abs) every day, others only on an upper-body day, others on an aerobic day, and so on. If I'm going to do 10 of those 40 exercises today, the app doesn't give me any support in making sure that I remember which ones in which order I should do.

Second, some historical support for each exercise is imperative. Simply checking off today's exercise isn't enough; did I show improvement? Did last week's injury still reduce my reps? Did I feel like I could have done another 5 today, and why?

Third, there are lots of machines which indicate a level of difficulty, but neither pounds nor kg. The choice between the lbs and kg is good, but I have to remember that "3 pounds" really means that I have to set the machine to 3.

Lastly, the developer's domain name is not in use, and the support link on this page leads only to Apple's home page. Neither of these is a good sign.

A few more touches & it'd be perfect.

Instead of ordering your weight training workout alphabetically, you should be able to put it in order of your routine. Just like the sheet you would have been carrying around from machine to machine.

Maybe even a calendar feature fir this who do isolated workouts (arm day, leg day, etc)

Other than those issues, it's a fine app.

Perfect and handy!

I usually use the equipment circuit at my gym so this is perfect for me! I am always trying to remember my settings and what I did last time. Definitely worth the $.99 and very simple and easy to use! Love that I can pick my own color!! Thanks!!

Ps- love the changes! Very helpful.
