I am not sure the authors of the ap have an understanding of what an ap should do. Since we all have internet access on the device that the ap would run on there is no need for this ap. It does NOTHING that isnt available on the website. Furthermore the product search USELESS. When you search by product you get a list with no pictures, no prices, just names and a link. So basically it's completely unshoppable unless you know what a DJ-S41-SD1 is because you would have to follow the link to even see if the item is even in the neighborhood of the item you might be looking for. Thanks I have no interest in checking every single link to see if it might be something I might want.
HRO seems like a good company but this ap is useless, redundant, and only seems to exist so they can say they have an ap.
Works very well for this iPod user.
App works great.
I can't comment on the other reviewers but I saw nothing of the same issues they had. You are able to search by keywords, model number, or use the manufacturer drop-down to list all items by that manufacturer. I like the fact it shows inventory level. Instantly can tell if they have what I want. BIG PLUS!.
The app does exactly what it's supposed to. It's an extension of HRO's catalog with an auction manager and driving/contact details. Obviously it's not as full features as their website but that's what I expect from a mobile app. . It's not a website replacement. Perfect for my iPod sized screen and iI can find something in an instant.
I would like to see some more features such as the ability to purchase directly from the app and maybe a way to find all items in a category like "HT's" or "HF Portable Rigs". How about integrating the "Wish List" to the app?
In general a nice app for hams. There are a few issues that HRO should focus on fixing. As mentioned by a previous reviewer, if you just type in the manufacturers name a plethora of products that interface with equipment from this manufacturer come up - that's actually very helpful. But the number of products from this particular manufacturer that are returned are very few - this is both odd and not helpful. It seems to be a quirk of how the database is searched, e.g., if "Kenwood" is entered about 4 actual Kenwood products are listed and TS2000 is not among them but if you enter TS2000, bingo - there it is and with all the accessories listed. This is a programming bug or a quirk of how their database works - should be fixable.
