HardwareGrowler is the best way to find out when hardware status changes on the Mac. If you need to know what's going on with your Mac, then you need HardwareGrowler.
When your power cable unplugs, HardwareGrowler will spring into action and lets you know about it. Plug in a device like a keyboard, thumb drive, or even a usb headset and get notified about the hardware changes.
HardwareGrowler will also let you know about changes to networking on your Mac. When a wireless connection changes to a different access point or an IP address changes, you'll be notified about the change.
HardwareGrowler is what you need if you need to know about your hardware. HardwareGrowler uses Growl to provide notifications or can do it all by itself. Simple to use, easy to configure, HardwareGrowler is the application for those who need to know.
- Resolves a problem with WiFi UUID parsing.

Good, but need Bluetooth LE filtering
Great app. I have used it for years and was happy to pay for it when it moved to a paid model. One thing it could really use, though, is a separate filter for Bluetooth LE connections & disconnections. They happen almost constantly and don’t really help me understand the state of my machine. Even better would be a general (cross-module) string- or regular expression- based filter. In the mean time, I’ve had to completely disable the Bluetooth module, which is disappointing.
Good application but could be missing Thunderbolt monitor
All I can say is I think this is missing the monitor for connections on the
Thunderbolt port(s). Since Apple has eliminated the ethernet port,
I was given a Thunderbolt to Ethernet/Gigabit adapter and once I plugged
it in and the network cable into the jack, I did not see any notification
of the network connection directly to the router via LAN cable.
I may see when the IP address changes from the Wi-Fi connection that it
is disconnected in favor of the higher priority direct LAN connection via
Ethernet cable to the router but I do not see when it has connected.
Perhaps this is an oversight.
No update in Year and a Half
With all of these reviews crying out for extra functionality, you’d think that more would be forthcoming with this app, but no. It notifies me 10 times a day that bonjour is running! The old one is free. The group gets some money and you figure it would be better now but It’s just Ok for the money.
