Ratings and Reviews
Could replace the stock photo app if they improved it
Overall it's very good but it still has limitations. 1) Albums always start from the bottom and there's no way to start from the top (like a normal ios album). There should be a individual setting for each album if you want it to open from the top or the bottom. Not everyone wants the albums to start from recent. 2) No quick photo scroll wheel like iOS which is arguably the best feature of the stock photo app. I'm sure they could implement something similar. 3) Needs better ways to go to the top or bottom of the album instantly. Right now it forces you to scroll the window in order for the button to appear. Needs permanent up/down buttons. 4) Photo loading could be improved a lot. It takes a few seconds to open an album and a couple seconds for hd photos to focus. This becomes a problem if you're a photographer and most of your pictures are big in file size. Browsing becomes a pain. I tested with the iOS photos app and it's a few seconds faster on it. There are a bunch more recommendations but these are the biggest.
Also, it seems they don't respond to support or emails (for me and many others) so it sounds like it's up to them if they want to surpass the original photo app, which they could easily do or just leave it as is.
A building full of software developers couldn’t achieve what this one did
If you are struggling with photo organization, add this app to your arsenal. This app has all the missing organizational and visualization features lacking in the iPhone and you won’t find all of these features, fully integrated with the iPhone camera roll, packed into a single app anywhere else. It makes tagging, photo album organization, and more a breeze. So far it’s been 100% stable. I searched the app store for several days and experimented with many apps, many of which were expensive and I needed to get refunded because they didn’t work and hadn’t been updated. This app is a great value for the money and better, by a mile, than any other I tried.
Incredible App but...
I wish there was an option to directly import photos into Photos library to eliminate several steps. I love the wireless exporting feature. First I wirelessly send the photos to my iPad Hash Photos App. After I confirm that the photos have arrived, I delete them from my iPhone. Then on my iPad I view, delete, edit and tag more easily and quickly. I am most interested in tagging. Then I wirelessly send them to my MacBook. Then I import them into Photos. After confirming the import, I delete the Hash Photos folder with all the photos.
I don’t use iCloud because I live in a country where the internet is too slow. Maybe in the future I could just sync with iCloud Photos...
Apple should buy this app and incorporate it into Photos.
