Incredibly tedious-- wasted my money
I really don't know why this game has gotten so many 5 star ratings. I hated it. The "plot" was the stupidest thing I've ever seen, and made no sense. The h.o. scenes were ok, except you have to do the same ones 2 or 3 times with several items on the list the same each time. The occasional "puzzles" were often nothing more than mindless sorting excercises that would bore my 5 year old. And it was just plain not fun. The stupid random tap shaming function was so annoying I could barely stand it. 5 unproductive taps in a row gets you a little shattered screen effect which takes a couple seconds to go away. That is bad enough in an h.o. scene, but this game has it all the time, even when searching for inventory items in places you wouldn't intuitively look. On that note, there was usually no decent indication of what to do next. It just didn't make any sense.
I usually love big fish games, which is why I bought this one without trying it free first. Never again. I can't believe I played the whole thing, which I only did because I paid for it, and I kept hoping it would get better. It didn't.
I want my money back...
I honestly don't know how people could beat this game and I don't know why it's getting such positive reviews. Sure, the graphics are nice and the environments are pretty, but there's a lot I don't like about this game. For one, the touch controls need a lot of work. I had to touch multiple places around objects just to get them to go to the inventory. Secondly, it really makes me mad that I go pay for a game that I'll never be able to finish. I've tried everything and I can't pick the cork up in the wine cellar. Thirdly, the way the screen "breaks" when you touch it like 3 times is so annoying. It didn't matter how fast or slow I touched the screen consecutively, it would still do that. Lastly, the story seems kind of stupid, though I'll never know how it ends, and the way you had to stay in one room until you finished everything there made the game boring. Out of all the Big Fish games I've played, this one is my least favorite.
Waited till it went on sale, bought it for 99 cents well worth it! Wouldn't pay full price though. I had a real problem with the observatory room and had to read through 200 reviews before I found the answer on how to get through the room. So for the people that are having the same issue SPOILER ALERT: take the sun and light the beam then put the sun back in the inventory box then take the mirror and aim the light at the dragon until fire comes out of it's mouth then take the sun and put it in the fire then take the sun out when it lights up and finish by putting the sun in the spinny thing. I hope this helps I rated this 5 but really think they need to fix that part of the game.
