Head for Gmail is a new way to access your Gmail. Doesn't have enough space for a menubar app? Not a problem. We introduce Head that will stick on edges of your screen.

Head icon will always on top of other applications so you can always click on head icon no matter what you are doing and then you can access your Gmail.

Using physical principle, you can drag Head to anywhere and it will be pulled to the edges of screen naturally and smoothly.

- Switch between Mobile and Desktop mode
- Auto hide Head when inactive eg. for watch movie
- Blur or Darken background when activate Head
- Head can be dragged and pulled using physical principle
- Stealth mode : set transparency of Head window

Ratings and Reviews

Needs a couple improvements

The app is great except for these two things:
-The blur option does not work with retina displays. When active, the background becomes a blurred picture of the bottom left quarter of the screen. The app is assuming I have a 1440x900 resolution, when I actually have a 2880x1800.
-Remove the icon in the dock. This is unnecessary if this is to be an app running in the background.

Cool concept, but...

I like the idea, but this app is basically useless without some kind of notifications. Would it be possible to add badges to the icon, or even just a popup in notification center? Otherwise, I still have to keep Gmail open in the browser or use a mailtab app to even know that I have new mail.

This is really the only feature I'm missing.

Can’t control where the gmail screen appears

You can’t drag the desktop gmail screen to where you want it. When you open the app, gmail just moves to the center of the screen, covering everything up. How about letting people move it to one side so they can keep working on the other?
