Frustrated by the pathetic dummies ruling the country? Waiting for a real leader to take charge? Think you could do a better job?

Plan your own Machiavellian rise from political nobody to Head of State. Build your ideology picking policies as you see fit, not forgetting to include plenty of crowd pleasers. As your support grows, make sure to cozy up to all the right people: the Police, the Church and anyone else with power. After all, once you take power, you don't want anyone taking it back!

Make sure you are prepared for random events that could knock you off course with a provocative comeback always at the ready. You'll need to play by the rules to start with, but as your momentum builds, who needs democracy?! There's only one person fit to this nation: YOU. And you're going to rule for a long, long time...

BUILD POWER – Collect influence with a simple tap. Easy to start, but hard to finish!
RISE AND DOMINATE – Spend influence on policies and control measures to win support from your rivals
CHOOSE WISELY – Look out for random events that can definitively change the course of your campaign
COMPLETE CONTROL – The more power you have, the more devastating your actions become
REVOLUTION – Dissolve democracy with the biggest landslide in history, and become the supreme leader

Head of State is for everyone worried about the fate of liberal democracy. Everyone worried about the rise of demagogues and post fact politics. Everyone who enjoys a thoroughly engaging strategy game that makes you think.

Take 5 minutes out to forget how worrying the real world is, and live out your darkest fantasies of political domination.

Literally Unplayable

I played this game all of about 30 minutes until I became beyond frustrated. As others have mentioned, the gameplay is not balanced in any way; the game forces you to, in order to win, only invest in a select group of core mechanics which alienates 80% of the game. There is no strategy involved whatsoever, and each of the different game modes are poorly explained and won following the same exact strategies. Don’t even bother with the increased difficulty settings; easy mode difficulty is already barely beatable and the difficulty settings are pretty much impossible. The menus/descriptions while playing are pretty user unfriendly and the touch calibration for different regions are poorly implemented and will leave you pressing your screen multiple times before you get it to register your press due to poor game optimization. Luckily I only paid .99¢ for the game but it’s legitimately a dollar I wish I could have back just based on principle

Don’t be like me and actually listen to all the low star reviews; I was really hoping for the best and left incredibly disappointed

Interesting game

This is an interesting game. The only way I can reliably win is by being oppressive, intimidate the enemy or outright eliminate them.

Unfortunately, there is a bias towards liberal or socialist policies, as the weighting for support and approval is based upon that. I suggesting making the weighting different based upon the composition of the population.

The population and base of support is always an unknown. That should be included if there is a decision to start a revolution in the game. Many actions are generic, and the player has insurmountable odds to gain control, apart from becoming a communist state or Clintonesque era politics. If one wants to be conservative or attempt the things that Trump wants to accomplish, you’re bound to lose in the game.

I have played over 25 times, winning at multiple levels and combinations.

There is too much bias built into the game, and it needs to be changed.

Has Agenda, No Balanced Gameplay

Here's the gist:
-Choose liberal policies no matter what
-Boosting 'Influence' does nothing. I thought I would get more 'Influence' bubbles to pop or they would be worth more, forget it. Don't waste you're points trying to boost or increase.
-'Favourite Policies' don't matter either. Even if a region prefers a policy, you can choose none of them and still win.
-Comes down to 'Support' and 'Control'. But in the end, if you let the entire election go through and not utilize the on fire button when you're ahead, you'll always lose in the 4th quarter.

I wanted to like this game, but there is no strategy. I would say there is no randomness at all. You can't completely pick conservative policies even if some regions prefer or if it will build you enough support and influence.

I'm sorry I wasted $2.99 on this. I wish I could get my money back.
