Corny, I know. Probably not the first person to make that joke! Anyway, this is my first time ever reviewing an app because this honestly is SO worth it.
Awhile back when I saw the first ads for Headspace I thought it was pointless for me to try out despite how adorable and calming it seemed. Then one day I decided that after seeing ad after ad and sitting all the way through to watch them, why not give it a try? Best decision I made. Never have I thought that this app would be so important to my health. I didn’t think I’d ever need meditation or that it would work for me and I’m so happy I was wrong. Ultimately I decided to go on the route of destress meditation (the free version) and it has helped so much with my nighttime anxiety. I find myself being more at peace and having my body feel so incredibly relaxed and loose before I go to bed which I’ve never felt before. It’s quite incredible how good this app has made me feel. It’s also helpful because ever the free version slowly takes you into the journey of meditation to help you feel comfortable learning and living in it. I just reached my fourth session with two weeks of trying this app out and I finally was able to go total zen to the point of getting rid of my uneasy feeling I had moments ago. I definitely recommend this app to anyone who needs a moment of relaxation.

A life-changer for an anxiety-ridden college student

I usually wake up with a lot of anxiety—sometimes it’s about something in particular, and sometimes it feels like it’s happening for no reason at all. When I started headspace I was going through a really tough time, was waking up later and later just so my days would be shorter, and was overall just trudging through my days in a way that felt awful. I was looking for a way to start my day on a more motivated foot than my mind seemed to want me to. This has worked wonders. I’m able to get up earlier and start the day feeling ready for what’s coming instead of having the horrible pit in my chest I used to have every day. Headspace has taught me how to take a step back, breathe a little deeper, and be okay with feeling things, which I really wasn’t letting myself do. The night casts have also been wonders at helping me get to sleep within minutes. Overall my productivity has shot up and so has my happiness (I don’t even cry during arguments anymore lol). Seriously, it’s played a huge role in balancing my emotions and managing my anxiety. I highly recommend headspace and incorporating mindfulness into your daily life. ALSO: college students get access to all headspace sessions for only $9.99 a year so PLEASE take advantage of that so they keep it 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
