A Wonderful Experience - a Keeper!
I took a meditation class years ago and found the need to begin meditating again. I’ve gone through periods of feeling very anxious/restless and outside of my body, and decided it was time to “check in” with myself.
Every app or class I found was too new-agey for me. Cheesy music, teachers who sounded kind of gauzy and ethereal, for lack of better terms… I am open to all different approaches but I find that the sound of the teacher’s voice is crucial - and we all have different taste.
This app is GREAT. Andy has a wonderful “way” about him, I instantly felt comfortable when I first downloaded the app. The website is very thoughtfully put together with great graphics, some guidance, and as a designer myself, I just think it’s a beautiful site. I was impressed and invested in the full version.
The only downside to me is that you have to go through all 3 preliminary “packs” before using the others - I had hoped to use those at the same time. Right now, though, I find myself doing a 10-minute session in the morning and sometimes that feels like it just scratches the surface so if time allows, I do a 20 minute session in the afternoon so it doesn’t feel rushed.
Thank you Andy for creating such a nice app that allows me to slow down for a few minutes each day and connect with the present moment, an experience that to me is priceless and I’m glad to be back in the swing of things. :-)
Great content
Great content but the sound of this mans voice is extremely offensive and almost ruins the whole process for me. Unless you are gay or a woman it is not necessary to have a mans voice whisper in your ear. Why whisper why not just talk? I know I certainly dont need another man whispering in my ear in order to relax me. what it actually does is irritate the hell out of me. It's been two weeks and I still find it very bothersome. However the content is excellent. I will have the learn how to work around it I suppose. Why can't men just just act like normal men anymore? What's with all these hypnotist sounding so effeminate? Normally I don't care but when you have headphones on and it's in your ear,not cool. Sorry to sound negative, the guy seems like a good man and very competent but other is just kind of a drag for me.
Exactly what I was looking for!
Meditation isn't for everyone. But it should be. The voice of Andy, is very soothing and makes me feel at ease. The basics are great for learning the foundation for meditation. Something I personally have wanted to try. And after trying a few other apps, this was the one I ended up loving. I do pay monthly, but I truly believe it is helping. Finding peace, isn't always easy. But the way you are guided in this headspace app, well...makes you think about other ways to look at the bigger picture. Simply awesome. Would highly recommend this app to other users and have already to my family. Can't wait to get more "Headspace".
