Headspin: Storybook v1.1 by Brandwidth
Curiosity finally killed the cat. After months of debating, I finally bought the game. Before I knew it, the game was over as it only has 20 very fast (timed) levels. Yes, there is an endless mode, but it's just not very fun. Please add more levels.
Brevity is not the only problem to plague this game. As another reviewer noted, it's very hard to play this on one's iTouch or iPhone as the items to flip are just so tiny. And I have small fingers. Also, the color scheme makes it hard to see the nuances in these small objects.
Finally, my last complaint is that the story really has little to do with the images. It was just the same old, same old, page after page, level after level. Where's the knight? Where's the witch? Even a cutscene illustration between each level would be a nice touch.
As it is, I would not recommend this game unless it was free. If you want a good spot the difference game with a story, try Red Hood (it's FREE!). If you crave something more along the storybook look and feel, try the puzzler Cardboard Castle. If only this game could combine the best of both these gaming worlds. Sigh...
Almost too tiny for iPhone!
I love the graphics! The story felt incredibly fast and I felt like I missed too much. After the freeplay was unlocked, I had some time to browse the details of the screen and loved it even more! I have yet to go through the story again, but I plan to eventually. I would really like the ability to look at the finished page for a bit, I ended up taking quick screen shots to look at the finished page. I have a 3Gs and I am pretty sure it doesn't do the graphics justice. I would love to see this app on an iPad. Also, it would be awesome if more stories were added!
Really well done, almost perfect game, but....
I bought this game out of curiosity for the art alone (well done icon, BTW!), but I have to say, it needs some work. The concept is amazing, the best "pop-up" visuals currently out there in my opinion! BUT, the timing is way too fast and you don't really get time to appreciate everything. Maybe put in level choices (easy, medium, hard)? I'd also love to see a ton more scenes in the future to keep it interesting, and more story lines for sure. Very well done, it just needs some tweaking. I agree, I'd even pay up to $4.99 if these things were fixed! FOR THOSE OF YOU LOOKING TO BUY BUT AREN'T SURE, I'D STILL SAY BUY IT, if just for the interface experience alone. Very pretty, and very cool! Plus, it's only $.99.
