Minor Bug Fixes
Good app, needs some features
This is a good scanning app that has many (but not all) of the items we've scanned. It seems fast and accurate(hasn't gotten any item wrong).
It tracks history but seems to have a bug where it doesn't save it across days or possibly opens. I hear they are working on an export feature which would be a great addition for working with your doctor to identify possible food allergies. (Certainly worth a star if implemented, especially if you can see all their ingredients)
The authors have also been quick at adding new items upon using the "add new item feature" built into it. Normally with a day or two they've added it to their inventory for future scans. (And notified me via email)
Good if you only have typical allergies
As someone with 50+ food intolerances on AIP, I was disappointed with the allergen narrowing options on this app, since they were limited to only the most common allergies out there. Your average gluten intolerant can only eat gluten free bread, but I'm one of the ones who can only eat 5-15% of the gluten free options out there. I know there are other people who probably came looking for apps with the same problems as I found.
Needless to say, it didn't do anything for me that I couldn't easily do myself, so it was a waste of money in my opinion.
It lists most name brand, common products, but most of those are things that people like me can't eat in the first place. I scanned a bunch of items from my kitchen and none of them come up at all on this app.
Lastly, the app is pretty buggy.
Great, but buggy
Most namebrand products seem to be included in the database which is wonderful. The diversity of the nutritional information is great for people with a wide range of health issues. However every time I go to click on an ingredient, I get an error message saying the wiki page is not available please try again later. It's been two days I don't know how much later it wants me to try.
