Use your iPhone or iPod Touch models with built-in mic to capture your heart sounds and email them to your friends. You can see the heart sound waves as they record.
1. Not suitable for the iPad.
2. Heart Recorder is intended for non-clinical recreational use. Heart Record does not produce clinical quality recordings. Visit thinklabsmedical.com/sapp for clinical quality Stethoscope App using Thinklabs Digital Stethoscope.
3. Recording may not be possible on people with thick chests.
To listen to real patient sounds, check out iMurmur, our clinical heart sound App.
CAPTURING YOUR HEART SOUNDS IS EASY:
To record a heart beat, seal the iPhone/iPod microphone over the left side of your chest, and tap the Record button. Watch the screen for a few clear heartbeats to scroll by, then tap anywhere on the screen to stop recording. Pinch, zoom and scroll until you have just the few noise free heart beats on the screen. Press Action >'Trim to displayed' to remove unwanted recording segments. Tap Play to listen to the recording. You can now email your recording!
Note that good quality headphones are required. The speakers on the iPhone will not produce low-pitched heart sounds.
There is an image of how to hold the iPhone/iPod to the chest in the App's Help.
Using it with an iPad looks odd but it definitely works. Simple yet great app.
I have been feeling heart palpitations recently and found this new app. I can definitely see the flutters on the graphic display. I can't hear it on my iPhone, as it says, but I sent it to my email and it is amazing! I can CLEARLY hear it on my computer speakers. It sends pictures of the graphics too.
I have a case for my iPhone and it doesn't work with it on. It works great with it directly on my skin though.
My family can now see and hear what I have been telling them about my heart palpitations. They come and go and I was afraid if I made an appointment with the Dr. It wouldn't show up on any tests. Now I can record it when it happens without expensive monitors.
Most useful app I have found so far! Thanks!
Convoluted use instruction and totally worthless. How do some of these bad apps get Apple approved. Sheesh.
