Great game

Overall a fun card game with endless replayability, personally having at least a hundred hours in the game. With new content constantly coming out keeping the game fresh. Extremely balanced so free to play players are able to compete with pay to play players. With my second account getting to one of the top ranks even with a limited card pool. Having such a huge community helps this game with their always being new stuff to talk about. Very few bugs, runs really well, good ui, good art design, and good audio design allowing this game to standout from other card games making it the best choice. Very easy to learn all the basic mechanics allowing you to quickly get in to the game but at the same time hard to master separating the pros and the noobs. With much more praising I can do their are without a doubt some negatives like their heroic brawls rewards being underwhelming, card balance is sometimes not the best, and other stuff as well but still a free game that I would recommend to anyone casual or hardcore gamer looking to have some fun.

Never gets old!

I’ve been playing HS for 3+ years, almost daily, and it never gets old. I started out as a free to play player, and as I got better at the game, started to spend more money. I’m now more involved as an Innkeeper, hosting Fireside Gatherings once a month, making friends with other people in the area... I would recommend, even if your new, getting involved in the community. It’s a blast playing face to face, coaching, or being coached, and sharing ideas for decks. I greatly appreciate what Team 5 has built, and they keep impressing me every time a new expansion comes out. I also don’t look at this game as just a mobile game. It was built for PC only at first, which is still probably the best way to play. I usually play on my iPad, because with 4 kids, I’m constantly running around the house... If your ever being roped, just remember the other person could be chasing down a kid, or changing a diaper... lol. All being said, I highly recommend this game!

Fun, If A Bit Frustrating

I don’t think any of their R&D staff actually play the game, nor do they have any depth in their play-testing. This results in chronic “oops, this card is too powerful... let’s edit it because we’re lazy” nerfs. What that means for players is - all that gold you spent time grinding to buy packs to get dust to craft good cards, or all that money you spent on packs to get good cards - out the window when they ruin your deck. But don’t worry... they compensate you with a small amount of dust.

It’s definitely not “pay to win.” It’s “pay to get cards faster” - but owning cards doesn’t give anyone the ability to win.

I’d love to say skill is a major factor, but all the skill in the world can’t overcome the wrath of RNGeezus. Randomized effects are also a problem in the game, at least in terms of elevating it to a significant strategic challenge. Many times, decision-making boils down to eliminating randomness.

The player base seems covered up with antisocial types who are both entitled and rude. Blizzard could easily solve an experiential negative by adding a toggle option to permanently squelch emotes.

My five-star rating is based upon the facts: 1. In spite of these complaints, I still have a blast playing the game and haven’t quit since beta; 2. I saw a completely ignorant and irrational one-star rating (written by one of those entitled types no doubt) and figured the unrealistically low score needed a counterbalance.
