The classic card game.
Try to pass hearts and the Queen of Spades to other players, while trying to get the Jack of Diamonds for yourself.
Includes a History of your played games, Statistics, and a Tutorial mode.
Options included are AI Difficulty, Game Duration, and an optional bonus for the Jack of Diamonds.
What's New in Version 1.5
Games are now saved between sessions—if you quit Hearts HD and return later, your game will be just like you left it.
Games are now also saved into a history. You can look and see the results of your previous games.
Now there's Statistics. You can see a breakdown of how many games you've won.
There's two new game options: Duration and Jack of Diamonds. You can choose between Short, Normal, and Epic games (starting with 40, 100, and 250 points, respectively), and can select whether or not the Jack of Diamonds is worth a 10-point bonus.
Thanks to methodvon, sharrissf, and Thinking Cap for the suggestions!
In previous versions:
Cards are now easier to read. They're bigger, and unplayable cards are less transparent than they were before.
Cards are now easier to select. They fan out wider, giving more space between each card. Also, playable cards fan out farther, again giving more space. Unplayable cards are no longer draggable.
There's now a recap of the cards that were played in each round. The score has also been made easier to read.
Thanks for the tips, JRD42!
The AI is now smarter. Computer players are now on the lookout for players shooting the moon, are more careful with high diamonds cards, keep track of what players are out of what suits, and are smarter about what cards they lead a trick with.
There's also a tutorial option that guides first-time users through gameplay.
Finally, there's an option to 'dumb down' the AI. Using this option will increase the chance that the computer will play a random card versus the optimal card.
Thanks to Russmanhi for the suggestions!
Great Hearts game
Was looking for a great game of Hearts, and I am very pleased. Most of the issues noted in the previous negative reviews has been addressed. Variable level of difficulty (the hardest is still too easy) is now included, and the game saves automatically on exit. Cards are easy to read.
A few requests. First, ability to change the table surface (I always like just plain boring green felt) and card graphics. Some kind of sound effects would be nice. And, a tougher AI. Finally, the passing cards feature needs work...the cards are too small, the drag feature too picky (need to release the card in the small rectangle) and sometimes the cards you receive are stacked in a way that you can't read the cards (ie the middle card is covered up by the two other cards). I appreciate that the developer has taken the time to address the previous concerns and hope to see these issues improved with the next update.
Finally, I'd like to see you make a Euchre game (and maybe Spades).
Request for reviews tiresome
I would have given this game higher reviews, but this app constantly asks for reviews. Way too tiresome. I paid for the app, if you want to compel me to give you a free review then give me the game for free.
