Helvetica Weather is all about re-designing weather. Instead of using all of these images for the weather we instead show you the weather in one of the most readable typefaces available. On launch the app shows you the current temperature as well as the current condition for your zip code. If you swipe to the right you will uncover the forecast for your zip code. If you tap the info button in the lower left corner of the screen you will be shown the settings screen. In the settings you can change the zip code, background color, text color, and units used.
Helvetica Weather was made for people who want their weather to look beautiful, clean, and readable.
A special thanks to Weather Bug for opening up their services to developers.
This application only works within the United States.
Great clean app, one bug + 3 missing features...
I think this WOULD be a great quick way to check the weather from my desktop before heading out, but it doesn't update itself enough, it should update at LEAST every few hours but I will come back to it to find the same temperature as it had much earlier in the day. What's the point if I have to constantly manually refresh it to get accurate weather?
Otherwise, I would love to see just two additional features:
1) A picture of the current weather in the app's background.
2) Extended forecast option (either a toggle window or appended to the bottom of the main window view).
3) Append to Menubar option (mini-weather icon, current temp) similar to "MenuWeather Lite" or "Degrees."
Good although it has an annoying flaw.
Simple but useful weather app that works OK for me. However, as another reviewer pointed out, some zip codes are pointed to the wrong cities. Mine is among those. Luckily the city it points-to is close enough to have simlar weather. Nevertheless it is still annoying.
On the plus side: It's simple and free.
Nice app, intuitive, usable, doesnt crash and inexpensive. I thinks its sad that an app gets a low rating becasue it doesnt provide lots of eye candy even though it delivers as described. Sad.
