Ratings and Reviews
Frustrating with poor suggestions.
It'd be a different review if it were the same as the normal keyboard but with the rhyming option... but it's not. The keyboard responds differently. Once I got used to having so much corrected from "fat-fingers" I just can't go back. Every time I tried this app it became painful to type with. Extremely time consuming. This app just turned into a nuisance that I'd tap to accidentally swapping from EMOJI and revert back to the original keyboard for speed.
The suggestions are sub-par. Not at all what I was expecting! I never got use out of it for a thesaurus. The suggestions need extreme improvement. What it needs most is to be unnoticeably different than the standard apple keyboard.
Very apt and amazing and astonishingly superb. Acceptable ability.
My original concern was lack of assurance it doesn't create issues with text privacy and passwords. But read the website and it's true; many text apps are scandalous. Their site reads:
"Unlike other third-party keyboards, Hemingboard NEVER requests "Full Access", which means Hemingboard has no access to the internet, can't transmit and recieve any information, and your privacy is guaranteed. So, not only do we not collect any data, we literally can't."
Its fabulous, but I can't stand the icon
Hi this keyboard is the greatest thing I've ever bought on the app store and is totally flawless in every way
They just changed the icon and it looks cool on my home screen. Except they decided to use the same icon on the actual keyboard as the Hummingbird button. And on the keyboard it looks. Like. TRASH. I hate it with every fiber of my being and if they changed it back to the simple hummingbird it would completely restore my opinion of this app. It was so much better before, this was a terrible design decision. Especially on my iPhone SE, the corners aren't done right on the icon and looks especially trash because it doesn't fit right. But it works great and its a very well done app except for this one thing
Not really cross-platform
I prefer another app (Terminology) but I got this app mainly because it's on both iOS and Mac and was looking for something cross-platform. The iOS version of this app works fairly well. Unfortunately, the Mac version of this app doesn't work. It highlights random words about 50% of the time. And developers aren't responding to support emails sent months ago. Since this isn't really a cross-platform app, I'd recommend Terminology because it has several neat features (like custom actions).
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
