Hemispheres - Duel Your Brain

Do you know math? Have you heard of color theory and know how to mix two colors? You think thats child's play?
Maybe you're right, but what about solving simple math problems while at the same time you have to mix two colors together? How long can you keep that up against the clock? The clock which is constantly getting faster!
One thing you should know right away. It's pretty hard! Your brain handles each of those tasks with one of its hemispheres. One is better fit to solve logical tasks, like math problems. The other is rather creative and will look at the colors for you.
The annoying little detail is, that your brain takes an awful lot of time to switch tasks. You'll be surprised how often you're seemingly just sitting there, waiting for your brain to get ready serving you. But the time keeps ticking!
You can only make two errors on each side. The game ends with the third error. The timer running out is an error as well.
→ Train your brain!
→ Compare to players around the world!
→ Try getting all the trophies!
→ Marvel at your brain reaching unthought of limits!
→ Don't be frustrated that it won't be easy at first. That's normal :)
Free Tip #1: Use two hands!
Free Tip #2: Using headphones lets you hear the stereo postion of the sounds. Can be quite helpful in intense situations.
(The game uses Localytics to analyse the user engagement, but participation is voluntary and not necessary! I just thought, I better let you know.)
What's New in Version 1.1
Now also optimized for the iPad.
Well done for an interesting game concept.
Played with iPad2. I really enjoyed playing it the first time. The graphics
and control is top notch. The idea is that left brain handle words, logic,
numbers, etc and the right brain specializes in rhythm, spatial
awareness, imagination, color, etc. I find it quite fitting that the math
challenge is laid out on the left side and the color quiz on the right. :)
The inclusion of Game Center support and Achievements is great. It
may be interesting to list the actual break down between math and
color scores in the Game Center leader board. In spite of this, replay
value is a little on the weak side. My suggestion is to design
additional left and right brain challenges for future updates. On the
plus side, this game in theory may be used as a training tool for
young children whose brain function is still developing.
Another minor criticism is the lack of background music. Perhaps
different music/sound effects can be implemented to aid (or impede)
the player's progress.
Irritation for Colorbllnd People
I understand that you can't cater to everyone, but this app is literally impossible if you're colorblind. The second pre-stage just loops forever, telling me "you can do it" when, no, in fact, I cannot.. You should allow colorblind people (or anyone) to simply take a 0 on that level and move on. I'm just blocked altogether. Not a big deal, since it's just a game, but I bet I would have liked the rest of the app if I could have been allowed past a level I simply cannot defeat, and you lost a customer for no good reason.
Wonderful. More please!!!
There are some great suggestions for expansion in some of the other reviews. I can't wait for some of those to be implemented. I often feel drained after playing some of these cerebral games. Not so with this one, I feel energized.
