Solid rendition
I played this game as a child, and have fond memories of it! A major reason for buying my iPad was so I could relive my childhood through this game.
I have enjoyed months of gameplay, and have yet to tire of this game. The only reason for the 4 star rating instead of a 5 was because of bugs that can cause the game to crash. The bugs vary from attacking other players first aid tents, to visiting creature dwellings. I will say that this is rare. I believe I have experienced a bug no more than five times in my months of playing.
That being said, I would still get the game.
Wonderful, but needs more multi player options
Love the game, it was one of my wife's childhood favorites. We keep an old laptop with Windows around just so we can play it together. They did a great adaptation of the original for touch support. The controls could use a bit more refinement, but what they have is workable. The only major failing the the lack of multiplayer support over Game Center. As a turn based game it's already well adapted for playing on multiple devices.
Worth the money
I love this game, and I was extremely excited to see it was available on the iPad for only 10 bucks. It is definitely worth the money. It does take a little getting used to at first, and there is a slight learning curve for controlling the armies during battles. (You do have control over the armies during battles, despite what one commenter indicated. You need to read the tutorial to see how to control them.) I will be playing this for hours to come.
