I'm very happy with the app. Much easier than having to get my computer and pull up the website. There still are a couple of glitches, though. Before submitting the reservation, I went back to change pickup and drop off times. Did that fine but I couldn't get past the location screen because a message with a pink background at the top of the screen was telling me to enter an age. There was no place to enter the age. So I had to cancel out and restart the app and start all over again. This happened on several occasions. It wasn't just a one time thing.
Also, it wouldn't let me enter my phone number but did allow me to continue UNTIL I hit SUBMIT. Then it said I needed to enter the phone number, which I was able to do without any serious consequences, but I just don't understand why I couldn't enter it the first time through. The field was not sensitive to my touch and didn't bring up the keyboard for entry.
Fix the glitches and I'll give you five stars next time!
No information; Waste of time
Rented from Hertz for first time in a long while. Downloaded app prior to trip. Booked a car through my company, using my Gold number, and that reservation never showed up in the app. I’m lucky they emailed me with info on where to pick my car at the airport.
I even tried manually searching for my confirmation number without any success.
When I dropped off my car, I mentioned that maybe my Gold number was not actually associated with the rental. They confirmed it was, but the app still showed nothing. Now a few days later, the app shows that I completed a rental and gained points, but that doesn’t explain the missing rental details prior to and during my whole trip.
Then I tried submitting feedback in the app, but the text box broke when I attempted to paste in my confirmation number, and it blocked me from further typing until I changed context to a different text box first. After a couple tries, I eventually submitted it but was immediately faced with an error that there was a connectivity problem. I don’t have a connectivity problem, but I’m quite certain this app has a major logic problem.
App added aggravation with a huge waste of time. No benefit gained from this app at all.
If Hertz ever gets this working right, be sure to add ability to view details/receipts for completed rentals.
Simple yet powerful
The Hertz mobile app does everything I want it to. I especially love that it's integrated with my Concur Expense solution: I can book company rates through the app and the information flows to Concur. I just made a personal reservation and I was even able to apply points through the app. Nicely done!
Downgrading my rating a bit. It is SO frustrating that I have to look up my Hertz membership number every time I want to use the app. I wish it the “remember me” function actually worked or that I could use an alpha-based login (like email). It’s the lost secure app I use, and I honestly can’t figure out why. If this fell into someone else’s hands the worst that would happen would be an unclaimed reservation.
