Science for those who hate science!
This is the story about a curious robot that wants to be amused. In this STEM game you can take him to mysterious planets and show him some marvellous things. You’ll have fun abducting different creatures, and learn some science while you’re at it.
The app includes:
-- mini game that explains what sound is
-- mini game that explains what temperature is
-- mini game that shows how small atoms and molecules are; what is millimeter, micrometer and nanometer
-- mini game that explains what gravity is and how planets form
-- mini game that shows what things are made of
-- short story with poems

There's a robot who lives in a far away constellation
That robot looks like a dog, but not a Dalmatian.
He knows everything about water, steam and ice
How to drive a flying saucer
And how to find nanomice.

Explanations are included.
Just tap the little robot when his nose is flashing and read all about you see.

Introducing CLASSROOM MODE!

With this new version of "Hi Nano" teachers can use the app to explain certain scientific concepts to their students.
They say a picture is worth a 1000 words. We believe a mini-game is worth 2000 words. Just give an iPad to a child to play, and he or she will never forget how particles behave at different temperatures, what sound is, how small particles are, etc.
Just tap the teacher icon in the main menu and pick any planet on the map. Now you can access all the colourful interactive learning scenes without having to play the whole game from start to end.

"If, in some cataclysm, all of scientific knowledge were to be destroyed, and only one sentence passed on to the next generations of creatures, what statement would contain the most information in the fewest words? I believe it is the fact that all things are made of atoms — little particles that move around in perpetual motion. In that one sentence, you will see, there is an enormous amount of information about the world…"
Bugfixes. Seriously it was bugfixes.
Ratings and Reviews
Fantastic and intuitive educational game
At first some of the science themes aren't very obvious but you they start users learning about the powers of 10 (magnification) and what objects you can see at the millimeter, micrometer, and nanometer scale. You learn a bit about molecules, phase transitions at different temperatures, and much more!
- great for young children who might not understand names or more complex concepts
- fun and short
- some of the concepts aren't too obvious, even as a scientist (post grad school) I had to think a bit to catch a concept
- UFOs are fun but not very scientific
1. Having a label or description would be invaluable for connecting concept to future knowledge
2. It would be cool to have an info button where users could learn more about the concepts they are seeing
Thanks for the great app!
Developer Response ,
Hello! Thank you very much for the review, it was very important for us to hear the feedback.
"It would be cool to have an info button where users could learn more about the concepts they are seeing" -- we agree. And actually there is such a button. You can tap on the robot sitting in the corner of the screen and get all the info. We have made this obvious in the latest release.
We hope you'll find the app more useful now. Good luck!
