Refreshingly different, with a few shortcomings

I play all these HO games. This one skews the format just enough to be interesting, without abandoning what makes these games fun in the first place. But this game is guilty (and its not alone in this, Big Fish) of not providing names for inventory objects. I'm sorry, but when you're inventing imaginary uses for imaginary objects and expect us to figure out what to do with them, you can't expect us to somehow intuit what they are with an image that's all of 1/8" tall. Granted, I can recognize a shovel or a rope, but most of the time I find myself trying every inventory object on every pixel of screen space because I have no idea what it is. Whats that? A pencil with a green eraser? A fairy flashlight? Ogre dynamite? Oh of course, its a crystal glass cutter. (?!) It's no fun to have to use the guide to figure out what I have in inventory. And once it's been there for a day, I'm not going to remember what it was when I found it. Anyway, art was great, puzzles were fun, not too easy or hard, and some interesting new game structures.

What the *#$&* happened to the ending?

Warning: Possible spoiler alert.

i don't understand. He didn't rescue the right person, didn't get back the bio-coil, never connected back to Emily in the sub. Why would he end up flying away with Delia? And what was that zooming when Gideon hit the water? That all happened so suddenly and didn't make sense.

Why would the main character fly to another island where the play stopped for us to click on stuff, but when I clicked on my very first thing (the Gargoyle thing), the game suddenly ended and immediately the credits rolled. The story wasn't over! The game wasn't over! Was this a glitch? I feel gypped. Fairly good play until that bizarre ending that came out of nowhere and didn't make sense. If that was the intentional resolution to the story, BOO! But if that was a glitch, fix it for future players and please give me a credit toward a game that I can finish.

iPhone 5 issues?

The thing starts out like it'll be a nice opening sequence, but it seems like there are huge gaps in the story. All of a sudden, I'm thrown into the first scene without a clue as to what to do because I don't see the clue list (collapsible list at the bottom). Then after clicking all about, it seems like I get bits and pieces of a tutorial. You can't see the whole list of items at once, and you can't collect an item until you're able to read it on the list (at least that's how it worked for me). Then, where I got stuck... I have to use a tool from my inventory to open a box but it just won't work -- and not because I don't know what I'm doing. After googling, it looks like a few others are having the same problem with it: no matter how precise my placement of the drill to the screw, the drill does nothing but jump back to my inventory. Very disappointing. I was looking forward to a BFG HOG on my new iPhone 5, but it won't be this one.
