Could use A LOT of polish- commercials are excessive
The app will only sometimes have some of the shows you want to see. Often times you have to enter in your 'tv subscriber info'. eg you can only watch it if you pay for cable. If you don't well then you don't get to watch it. Seems stupid and counter intuitive.
Also the commercials in the App are quiet ridiculous and redundant. I once fast forwarded to a part of a Vikings episode and I literally saw 2 of the same 1 minute Disney commercial (why are there Disney commercials on a very adult TV show???); 2 - 30 second jeep commercials; 2 - 30 second and 1 one minute Dodge commercials; two 30 second commercials for home insurance and 2 - 1 minute Viagra commercials. By the time the show started I had nearly fallen asleep and stopped caring to watch it. It seems excessive when you have to watch 8 minutes of commercials for 7 minutes of show. Makes me wonder why I have the app....
Ok but needs more polish.
I understand the need for them to offset the expense of streaming by adding advertising. The problem is the lack of variety in the ads, coupled with glitches.
In watching a single episode, there was a 180 second interruption for advertisements about halfway through. After the ads played, I was treated to the program resuming with audio only and a blank screen. I had to kill the app, restart it, and try to resume the episode. Here's where things got interesting. There is no resume feature, so I had to use the sliding bar to guess where I could resume. Now, I am forced to sit through the same set of commercials. Best, the glitch reappeared so I had to sit through them a third time.
This app needs some refinement before I could recommend it to anyone.
I use this app to watch episodes of shows I missed live. It is beyond comprehension, why there are innumerable commercials throughout the individual episodes. Literally dozens, repeated over and over again. It is extremely difficult to stay focused on the program, when it is interrupted time, and time again, with the same commercials, over, and over again. Seriously! I am not encouraged to purchase a single item advertised, because I get so aggravated by the repetitive interruptions. One minute you are in the dark ages, battling with the vikings, and the next 5 minutes you are watching commercials for kiddie video games, and trucks!
