Become an Elf: customize your ears, hair, clothes and even wear the crown of Thranduil to become one of the Elves from "The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug." Once your transformation is complete, share your image on Facebook, Twitter or Tumblr.
From Academy Award®-winning filmmaker Peter Jackson comes “The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug,” the second in a trilogy of films adapting the enduringly popular masterpiece The Hobbit, by J.R.R. Tolkien.
The three films tell a continuous story set in Middle-earth 60 years before “The Lord of the Rings,” which Jackson and his filmmaking team brought to the big screen in the blockbuster trilogy that culminated with the Oscar®-winning “The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King.”
“The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug” continues the adventure of the title character Bilbo Baggins as he journeys with the Wizard Gandalf and thirteen Dwarves, led by Thorin Oakenshield, on an epic quest to reclaim the Lonely Mountain and the lost Dwarf Kingdom of Erebor. In theaters December 13.
What's New in Version 1.8
All-new app update featuring "Become an Elf" from "The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug," now playing in theaters.
Version 1.8 Update: added additional language support.
When the previous version of the app was out, it was, simply a short waste of time. Now that the second installment is out, the app only does one thing-supposedly. It affords me the opportunity to "turn myself into an elf."
This might be fun, if it actually works. But it doesn't . I can take my picture, but it doesn't allow me to apply the ears, the hair, the outfits.
If the controls had some explanation as to how to use them, I'd appreciate it, otherwise, why doesn't the app at least do the things it used to do. I can't remember what those were, but they would be better than nothing, which is what this app does now. If a movie related app doesn't enhance or supplement the movie experience, then it's a waste of time and money for audience and developers alike. Don't bother with this silly non-app!
I thought that this app would be a good experience to look like thranduil or legolas. But, like the last review said, it doesn't work!
Doesn't work. You can a picture and it just freezes.
How can Apple and the developer release something like this???
Shame on Apple and the developer.
