Description

Let Hoboken Walks introduce you to Hoboken's rich cultural history and past. Whether you are new to town, just visiting, or a current resident wanting to discover more about your home's richness, take out Hoboken Walks for a walk around town.

We think making a history tour is important because many citizens don't know about their local history. Knowing local history helps us understand the present state of our town; why we live here, how we got here, and how our community has changed. Also it helps us improve our judgment and decisions about the future. As you know - "he who knows the past controls the future". You can also see how the community is changing and has evolved over time. We want to help you understand and appreciate the history of our town. Most of all knowing local history can inspire people to be proud of their community.

We, three girl scouts from Troop 12041, created these walks as part of our project to help others learn about our town. We hope you can rediscover a little bit about Hoboken through our themed walks and Fun Facts cards.

Great App for Guests!

I have lived in and around Hoboken for about 15 years and pride myself on knowing my community. Well, this app just taught me a thing or two. Although I recognized most of the sites, I didn't know their stories. Each of the many landmarks, parks, etc listed has an interesting bit of history behind it. Using this app is a great way to get out and 'really' see Hoboken. This is the perfect app for sharing with guests who are visiting. Kudos to the Girl Scouts girls who created this tour!

You might not think that a mile-square town like Hoboken could offer so many interesting, fun and educational walks---but you'll find it all here in this easy-to-follow app. It will enrich your knowledge of this town whether you're a long-time native or visiting friend. Highly recommend this app! A must-have for anyone in Hoboken or anyone who wants to truly experience the wonders of this town! Kudos to those who created it. A job well done!!

Great for newbies to the area

There are so many places to see in Hoboken, and this offers a one-stop shop introduction to some of the great places around town. Can't wait for the follow up!
