✰ Katsushika Hokusai (葛飾北斎,September 23, 1760 – May 10, 1849) was a Japanese artist, ukiyo-e painter and printmaker of the Edo period. He was influenced by such painters as Sesshu, and other styles of Chinese painting. Born in Edo (now Tokyo), Hokusai is best known as author of the woodblock print series Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji (富嶽三十六景 Fugaku Sanjūroku-kei?, c. 1831) which includes the internationally recognized print, The Great Wave off Kanagawa, created during the 1820s.

No Depth and Childish Captions.
Anyone who praises this app, knows nothing about Art appreciation—there, I said it!
This is simply a collection of images. Before downloading, just visit the 'developer website' link provided in the details and you'll get a glimpse of dubious websites which I'm sure violates Apple's standards in one way or another..
Anyway, this application offers no insight into the printmaker, Hokusai. One could easily find a good collection of this by just doing a Google images search. In fact, the captions poorly written by an author who has a poor command of the English language and writes with distracting childish and irrelevant observations that have nothing to do with the artist Hokusai, or the print being shown.
So, don't fool yourself into thinking that you're doing something for the arts, or expanding your Art history knowledge by downloading this app, which in my opinion seems to be bilking art+app patrons forever whatever money or attention they can get just to position themselves prominently in the App Store.
The artist is a true master. The work includes portraits, land and seascapes, botanicals, and much more, all categorized. There are so many images I've never seen in exhibits. I love this app and gladly pay for it if I'd had any idea what a treasure trove it is. I could do without the music, however. It's a waste of memory.
where are the prints?
I go through this a lot. What may seem easy to do, is difficult for my limited experiences with apps and programs.
I have tried to find the prints but can only read the slideshow over and over. It seems to have orange color links but they don't work.
I am getting tired of trying and tomorrow is another day.
